Are we becoming the new Alberta?? WTF is happening?

Rules for thee, but not for me

Rules for thee, but not for me

“Americans are currently experiencing negative side effects”. Oh, no! Really? Has your house been obliterated by bombing? Do you still have water, electricity, a roof over your head? Do YOU, idiomaddict, know how you’re going to feed your children tonight??

Really? Where did you get that story? You might want to read real news: (https://www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/article/bc-ag-seeks-criminal-code-change-after-tumbler-ridge-ai-chat-report/) (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/mother-jones-chatgpt-safeguards-tumbler-ridge-bc-shooter-9.7358031) (https://globalnews.ca/news/11676795/tumbler-ridge-school-shooter-chatgpt-account-flagged-banned-openai/)

So, someone please educate me here. Doesn’t law enforcement already have access to digital information during investigations? I think companies already retain metadata, even if they say they don’t. And, wouldn’t it be like any investigation where you would need a court order to get that information?
Bill C-22, formally the Lawful Access Act, 2026, is a proposed Canadian federal law about giving police and intelligence agencies access to digital information during investigations. It would update rules for obtaining subscriber information and other data, and require some service providers to support lawful access requests. Parliament of Canada
The bill is controversial because critics say its provisions could expand surveillance, require companies to retain certain metadata, and pressure providers to make their systems accessible to authorities—potentially weakening encryption. The government presents it as a way to help law enforcement investigate serious crimes.

The shooter had used ChatGPT in conversations involving gun violence and plans for the attack. OpenAI’s safety systems reportedly flagged the account months before the shooting. According to B.C.'s allegations, OpenAI’s own safety personnel considered the activity serious enough to recommend contacting law enforcement. Instead, the account was deactivated, but the shooter was allegedly able to create another account and continue using ChatGPT. B.C. argues that OpenAI should have notified police and taken stronger steps to prevent continued access.
This is not a landline issue. This is a ChatGPT issue. There were tragic consequences.

Well, you people better do something. 'Cause you’re on the verge of becoming George Orwell’s 1984

The People have so much power, but they don’t exercise it. Case in point: ABC/Disney suspended Jimmy Kimmel. Calls for a Disney boycott began spreading rapidly. People specifically urged Disney+ and Hulu subscribers to cancel their subscriptions, with the hashtag #BoycottDisney appearing on social media. The campaign became more prominent, with celebrities and other public figures joining calls to cancel Disney+, Hulu and ESPN. They also said they were canceling Disney trips. Result? Disney announced that Kimmel would return. There it is, right there. That is one example of the power of the people. You don’t like something? Fucking band together!! BOYCOTT, RESIST

They need a national shutdown. But that might mean no social media for a while… so, yah, no.

From B.C.: Sorry to our Washington State Democrat neighbours. Unfortunately, your “commandeer” in chief has left us no choice.

I would love to know how Lorne Doerkson plans to end no-fault insurance without our rates skyrocketing–again. (Wondering if he golfs with personal injury lawyers??)
Excellent Question Period from CTV. After everything we’ve seen happening in AmeriKKKa, and Alberta, I don’t understand the support this party is receiving in B.C.
I most humbly stand corrected. And I deserve the down-dressing! I completely misinterpreted something I read.
Wrong. His is not pushing for privatization of our airports! Stop spreading lies!! If you can’t report the truth, then stop! Seriously! Do your homework, LOSER
