Excellent Question Period from CTV. After everything we’ve seen happening in AmeriKKKa, and Alberta, I don’t understand the support this party is receiving in B.C.

Eh, this seems like a non-issue to me. Doerkson’s sorta been thrown into the leadership as a result of the election call, making big heavy handed moves isn’t really his place, as he doesn’t have a mandate to do so.
Even more, the ‘outrage’ over the comments is inflated, by a knee-jerk outrage machine that mostly wants attention. Books showing kids having sex in schools, is a questionable ‘thing’ in general – some of the examples that have been highlighted in the past on this topic, are basically comics/picture-books showing the various acts, between young kids. Is it educational? Maybe. Is it lewd/inappropriate? Maybe.
If people don’t like the cons’s interim leaders stance on the matter, I think their outrage is more appropriately directed towards the NDP, given that the NDP are the ones that triggered a bullshit election while their opponents didn’t have a more firm leader in place. The lack of a definitive ‘stance’ from the cons, at the moment, is Eby’s fault. They HAD been going through turmoil related to the AmeriKKKa style stuff – now, we may not get to find out where they settle in terms of being fascists or not, until AFTER the election, because Eby fucking rushed it thinking he’d win if he could run a race against no opponent. Lots of voters, myself included, aren’t really inclined to support that sort of self-serving bullshit – and will either not vote, or will vote for third parties.
Eby called a vote in 2024 to get a supposed mandate to deal with the uncertainty of Trump’s second term. He got that. Now, he’s demanding mid-way through his mandate, that we all pay him more/agree to an even longer term for him and his cronies, for no fucking reason. He could’ve waited two more fucking years, for the KKK shit in the states to resolve, but nah, he wanted to risk it. Even AFTER he’d gotten that mandate. It’s sorta like… idk… agreeing with another party to build a bridge, building that bridge, and then when its time to pay for that bridge, the other party Rips up the agreement and says pay me more. People put their trust in the NDP, and they’re playing political bullshit games. They should get punished for this political posturing.
I mean, shit, people have enough chaos in their daily lives from the political bullshit coming out of the States. What politician in Canada seriously goes “You know what? We should force more political bullshit onto our citizens, that’s what they really need/want at this time! Not for us to do what we were elected to do FUCKING YESTERDAY, but to keep pestering and flooding their inboxes with shit!”. Bell-ends all around.
