7 daysYeah living conditions on Earth would be so vile that we’d go to Mars and leave her behind.
- kent_eh@lemmy.caEnglish7 days
Or send her to Mars, and leave her to figure out how to get herself back.

7 daysShe had sick spacial exploration program that was about to reveal to everyone but you made fun of her with that forsaken lettuce and now everyone of is lost it. Congratulations to everyone one of you, ungrateful bastards.

Is that the lady who used to "run through fields of wheat? (How naughty!)
- Pipster@lemmy.blahaj.zoneEnglish7 days
That was Theresa May, two PMs before Liz… all in the space of a few years… Liz was the one who killed the queen, destroyed the economy in one day then buggered off having lasted in the role for less time than a lettuce
- wpb@lemmy.worldEnglish7 days
I understand why the rest of the world would want the brits on Mars, but why is Truss advocating for this herself?
- 8 days
What’s really frustrating about Liz Truss is she is too stupid to understand how stupid she is. If she could wrap her head around that, she might just shut up and we’d never have to hear from her again.
Skullgrid@lemmy.worldEnglish
8 dayslet’s see you become britain’s second female prime minister.
EDIT : OK, I guess
- The joke that she was already britain’s nth female prime minister didn’t go well
- Theresa May was britain’s second female prime minister, truss was the third
- to be clear, she achieved nothing and to hell with her.
- 8 days
lol, I still don’t really get the joke, but sympathy upvote based on the edit because I hate when that happens to me <3
Skullgrid@lemmy.worldEnglish
8 daysthe joke is "oh, you think you’re so much better than her? Let’s see you achieve the only achievement she has (becoming the third female british prime minister) when you can’t become the third of anything AGAIN.
I guess it all got fumbled and was shit to begin with.

Probably US Defaultism didn’t help. heh. I watch panelshows so I know a little more news than the average, but it still whooshed me.
I think it wasn’t so much poorly done as just didn’t land quite well AND once anything gets a downvote or two, it snowballs. heh.
Thank you for explaining. I may not be falling down laughing, but I am quite amused. <3
- threeonefour@piefed.caEnglish8 days
My favourite joke was to refer to her as “Conservative party backbencher, Liz Truss” but after looking her up on Wikipedia, I see that she has since lost her seat, so even that doesn’t work.
GreyShuck@feddit.ukEnglish
8 daysWell, if the tories - and Truss particularly - had remained in power until then, I can imagine that a lot of people would be taking extreme measure to get away, so I can see her point.

8 daysThey’d be sent up as indentured servants, as that would be many people’s only way of survival in perma-austerity. Those who got close to putting away enough company-store credits for the voyage back would find their oxygen bills algorithmically surge-priced upwards.

surprisingly hard thing to do ,
it turns out, aiming for the Sun without the rocket ultimately orbiting it is not easy at all
- athairmor@lemmy.worldEnglish7 days
Maybe they meant fire her at The Sun (1 London Bridge Street, London, SE1 9GF).
- voxthefox@lemmy.blahaj.zoneEnglish8 days
We choose these things not because they are easy, but because they are hard.
The shooting Liz Truss to the sun initiative may be the only way for her to make a contribution to science.
- Fluke@feddit.ukEnglish8 days
We know, and yet that is the choice regardless.
It suggests an as yet unseen level of dedication to ridding the universe of such a deeply offensive, absolute fucking cretin.
As a wonderful side project, we can see just how many despicable bodies we can physically cram into probably a SpaceX capsule, like a Tokyo subway train carriage. Musk, Trump, Vance, Putin, Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir, Farage, and Milei can start the proceedings. I’m sure we can collectively suggest more.
- rockSlayer@lemmy.blahaj.zoneEnglish8 days
As long as we get close, we don’t have to get the Roche limit. The air will get heated to oven temps regardless

Brexit 2, the UK leaves the Earth altogether to defeat the small boats once and for all
- Honytawk@discuss.tchncs.deEnglish7 days
That is actually canonical in Dr Who. They call it Starship UK.
- Random Dent@lemmy.mlEnglish7 days
They have a robotic Suella Braverman that tries to shoot down the TARDIS. If a small boat is bigger on the inside, it still counts.
