I’m not sure I buy that explanation, but it’s more plausible than a lot of evolutionary explanations for behavior that I’ve heard.

My son was in a club making out with a girl when her rugby-player boyfriend (who he didn’t know existed) went for him. He had Rugby Guy face down on the floor when the bouncers finally showed up. And I know that club. That’s one filthy, nasty floor.
He later told the girl she really shouldn’t do things like that. And about a year later, he hired Rugby Guy, who, despite his reactive impulsiveness on that occasion, is a decent guy. Much more decent now that he drinks a lot less. “Mongo only pawn in game of life.”

I’ve ran from every fight I could.
That’s always the best tactic, if you have the option.

And that’s exactly how it should be, only they should be quitting faster and in greater numbers.

You’ve dodged a bullet. Maybe more than one.

The AI doesn’t pay for things: the user does. The AI just spends their money.
Only in the courts.
In less closely supervised environments, if they start some shit with the wrong (right?) person, they’re a chance they’ll get curbstomped or completely removed from the gene pool. And if they keep stirring up trouble, it’s increasingly certain that they’ll eventually find someone who’ll serve as the instrument of their karma. When that happens, I’m not going to shed a tear.
