It looks like somebody accidentally scraped the last one off, so I replaced it as a courtesy.
It wasn’t his corruption that sunk trump.
It wasn’t the epstein files that explicitly states he raped children as young as 12.
It wasn’t his bungling of ICE gestapo that got multiple Americans killed
It was gas and diesel prices. What a stupid fucking country.
Saying it’s just gas prices and diesel kinda undersells how bad this is in practice. All goods and produce are transported with diesel be it train, truck, or even canal boat it’s probably diesel let alone the farming equipment that also uses it. This fuckwit basically caused the one thing that no empire wants to deal with, logistical failure.
It almost as if, we should of diversified with other sources of transportation perhaps other ways of producing energy 🤔 what if we had a car that ran on electricity, or maybe a more robust train transportation system.
These are all just pie in the sky ideas. No country has ever attempted this. /s

“got Americans killed” sounds like they removed the airbags in their cars, or dared them to swim with gators.
It was murder.

It wasn’t the army of masked gunmen harassing brown-skinned people and executing Americans on the streets.
I bought those same stickers and have been putting them on pumps too. So petty and stupid but I love it

In most cases they are pretty dumb because White House policy is rarely what drives gas prices but in Trump’s case with the Iran misadventures it is an open and shut case.
Right and during Biden’s presidency the maga chuds were putting the Biden ones all over the place. So this is a nice “right back atcha, assholes”.
But TBF the gas prices during the start of Biden’s term were the result of 1. Restarting the supply chain and 2. The direct result of the orange pedo threatening the Saudis into cutting back on oil production during COVID, directly impacting the cost to ramp it back up
So the 2021 gas prices were more impacted by the orange kid-diddler than the best president we’ve had since Obama

Absolutely true; didn’t stop those troglodytes from blaming Biden though.
“And again, remember, with the war, it’s just artificial. It’s a little bit high [but] it’s a small price to pay” - latest Trump quote i saw on rising petrol costs

“it’s a little bit high but it’s a small price to pay” is perfect for those Trump stuckers
That might backfire when suddenly all the trump supporters at the pump go “Oh, dear leader says it’s a small price, okay then. Can’t believe all those ungrateful libtards are complaining about gas prices!”
I think it already has. I’ve seen the response “I trust the president!” Something about how He gives his strongest soldiers the hardest battles?.. oh wait, I’m confusing the president with someone else.
Here in Ohio cheap unleaded is around 3.70, but only because the red governor
purely out of the kindness of his heart and to ease the burden of the constituents he cares so much aboutrecognized it’s 1 month til the midterm elections and suspended the gas tax for 90 days. Before that the cheapest gas I could find was 4.15.- Feidry@sh.itjust.worksEnglish2 days
Central Illinois here. The average price finally got down to around 4.17/gallon. And this is a low price area. It’s more expensive everywhere around us.
You would be pretty much on the money.
Because the USA produces practically enough oil to be self reliant without oil coming through the straight, their prices havent actually increased as much as other countries who dont produce their own oil.
So not only did they drive up prices worldwide to fuck every other country over but americans have the gall to bitch about fuel prices which have increased a fraction of the impact its had on ours whilst being the sole reason for the fuckery.- 2 days
Its cheaper now than ours was before all of this stuff. But I stopped directly using fossil fuels years ago so it hasn’t effected me in any way.
Except for having to listen to other people moan about it, that has gone way up. Everyone I know with a car that complains about it could either cycle to work or get an EV, so I don’t really care when they moan about fuel prices.

The problem is our crude is low quality and is harder to refine, which is why we import a lot of it.

2.39 €/liter here. 4.54 liters in a gallon. 1.12 $/€.
12.15 $/gallon. Yes, it’s double…

That’s an imperial gallon. US gallons are slightly smaller at 3.79 litres.

I’ve always heard that vehicles in europe are designed for better fuel economy, something about how emissions laws are worded.
In America it is common for small vehicles to get 30 miles per gallon (unleaded) , about $4 to $5 a gallon right now in the states.
Larger vehicles that take unleaded, like SUVs, trucks, vans, get maybe 15 to 20 mpg.
Large trucks and semi-trucks might be 8 to 15 mpg of diesel.
With respect of conversions of dollars, miles, and gallons, can anyone in Europe compare?
- 2 days
Dane here. My old small car (Aygo) ran about 55mpg and right now gas is about $10.5 pr. Gallon
- 2 days
IIRC, the US measure how efficient an engine burn an amount of fuel, while Europe measure the emissions of the distance traveled.
Quick and simplified example to illustrate the difference:
US car getting 33.5mpg (7.0 l/100km) emitting 126g of CO2 per kilometer. That’s 18g of CO2 per liter of fuel.
EU car getting 39.2mpg (6.0 l/100km) emitting 120g of CO2 per kilometer. That’s 20g of CO2 per liter of fuel.
It’s been years since I read about this, so I can’t remember the details of how/what it’s measured.
- 2 days
My previous car was a small 6 cylinder BMW and used about 10L/100km (mostly short city trips, about 8L highway).
That’s 23mpg in the city, 30 hwy, at 10.6USD per gallon (2.5 eur/L)
Now it’s about 18kWh/100km so 3.5 miles per kWh at 0.09 cents in summer and 30 cents in winter (solar panels).

It’s no wonder everyone’s getting new cars here.
Electricity is about a quarter of that for the same mileage.
Using the current prices and my own mileage, it would take 5 years to finance a new car only by the savings on fuel.
- 2 days
Same here
The money I would save on fuel would be the same that I’d have to pay to pay off a new small EV.
My only concern is that I’d have to buy a larger car than that, to be able to drive the distances that I some times do in my diesel car.
But I’m almost willing to have to charge more often, than spend money on a more expensive one
If I were to hazard a guess you guys are also probably less reliant. Here vehicles are used to get anywhere and an increase to this much even if less expensive then you guys is enough that some people can’t afford food anymore.

Personally I have 5 miles to the closest grocery store and 11 miles to work.
Its not crazy long, but long enough to need a car because there are no busses or trains and cycling or scooters isn’t always safe in the weather that we get here.
My confusion though is, why cars over there use so much more gas when, as you say, people need them. I’d assume that smaller more economical cars would be more popular in a country where distances are long
Further more, I think that the issue about not affording food, comes down to wages and not gas prices

Further more, I think that the issue about not affording food, comes down to wages and not gas prices
This is a great point, it kind of ends up being both in the USA right now, especially the price of gas keeps increasing while many peoples’ wages have remained pretty stagnant.
USA min wage, 2000: $7.25/hour. Average gas cost for the year was around: $1.40/gallon
USA min wage, 2026: $7.25/hour. Average gas cost today: $4.36
Sure, lots of people make more than minimum wage, but lots of people make less, too (if they get tipped).

I am also confused about this one 😂 despite living here my whole life. I have a subcompact hatchback of a type that’s pretty common in Europe/Asia and kinda rare in the USA. People are often shocked by how small it is. My ex-gf’s mom (from a rural area/“big truck country”) was like straight up offended by how small my car was. Every time I travel in Europe I’m like “omg, everyone here has cars like mine, this is so nice” People don’t even understand the fringe benefits beyond fuel efficiency. My car is easy for others to see around, so traffic flows better around me. I can park it anywhere, because there’s almost always a place that the huge American cars gave up on trying to fit into. I even get discounts on ferries because my car is so small!
I think most Americans just don’t understand how much fun small cars can be, they want more room to haul more stuff and people (even though most of us already have too much stuff & not enough friends, boom roasted)
Nobody can afford economic cars, vehicle arms race, and light truck legislation.
The vehicle arms race is the increasingly large vehicles. SUVs are considered light trucks and light trucks have legislation which allows for them to be less fuel efficient. This encourages less efficient vehicles to roam the street and makes riding bikes and motorcycles much less safe which further encourages the arms race.
Additionally many of our roads have a speed limit at something like 35-40mph which makes it so things like microcars can’t feasibly be street legal, even ignoring the glaring issue of being in a microcar next to an SUV.
My advice is make sure that your own country never laxes laws to allow for larger vehicles, you give auto manufacturers and inch they’ll take a mile and put you into this self perpetuating cycle.

Very interesting. I didn’t know this
We need two cars. One of them is annolder microcar (Suzuki Splash) and it does fine on our roads with 80 mph speed limits
Cars here are taxed every half year depending on how economic they are. The more they use the more they cost
Microcars aren’t able to travel above 25mph for the most part because of safety regulations. So what we do have here are a bunch of LSV rated microcars which can’t be used on many streets.
As for that tax it wouldn’t do much here, more likely to just lock them into poverty.
I’d personally love to own electric car but I don’t have 40k to blow. Mivro cars which are more affordable aren’t available here as LSVs as far as I can tell. I can’t even afford to buy an electric trike. And this is speaking from my position which is definitely better than most other people.
I think something that’s lost in the weeds is how truly poor US citizens are, as it would turn out having over 50% of the wealth in the hands of the wealthy makes for a rich impoverished nation.
Take for instance gas, sure it’s cheap comparatively, it’s also subsidized by our taxes so we’re paying for gas whether we like it or not.

Look into “eggshell stickers” when you restock. They flake off and are hard to remove
You’re getting on for European prices. UK here is about £2 per litre. After conversion from £ to USD and litres to US Gallon that’s about $10 / us gallon
