I think it is cool that you can swap out belt buckles and that there are so many cool ones out there. Really lets you dial in a fit and add a bit of flair, like an informal version of a pocket square.

Pic is an incolay belt buckle, they are cheap as dirt on ebay but have a great texture and the blue/white ones like in the picture go great with any denim.

Ya the guys in Lemmy.ml tend to be pretty weird like that. They aren’t a monolith but in general they tend to think that Russia, China, and North Korea have never done anything bad and that all the evil in the world comes from capitalism in europe and America and that the whole world will be fixed when The Revolution comes. It is all sort of like evangelical Christianity with the numbers filed off, the president of the United States is like an appointed satan (appointed, not elected, they don’t believe elections work/are real in the west) who rules over hell which is the west (sometimes stylized as “Amerikkka”, often accompanied by an American flag emoji with a fire emoji on top of it or a jpeg of a Chinese emperor shooting a fireball), Karl Marx is sort of like Jesus and mao, lenin, Stalin, etc. are the disciples, and The Revolution is the rapture. It is a pretty interesting belief system and I think the .ml guys all mean well, but they can be really difficult to talk to sometimes, as you’ve seen.

Those pants aren’t that long though. They don’t even break a single time, let alone stack like some jeans wearers prefer.
It is true that being fit helps you look better in the same style, but being fit doesn’t fix bad style either. Just look at these love island contestants absolutely vacuum sealed into their pants.

The sapeurs are dandies who take european fashion and make it their own. I think they are fantastic, in much the same way that the Cowichan sweater is a superior rendition of the cardigan and the banh mi is a superior rendition of baguette sandwich, sapeur style is miles ahead of the much more dour western suits.

Yes but other cars can be repaired at any mechanic rather than just at a dealer, which is the issue we were talking about above.
I am well aware of the computerization of cars, how carburetors have not been a thing for more like 30 years, and how generally electric vehicles are better than combustion ones but both are worse than public transit.
I’d be worried about some of the electronics, modern cars, electric or not, tend to be overcomplicated with tablets and server connections and what have you. I might also worry about getting into an accident.
