Haha yea, doesn’t help they came out around the same time either. They are VERY different games. But seriously, enjoy. I am so envious of the experience you are about to have.

I would give anything to play Outer Wilds again for the first time. The closest I can get is watching Let’s Play’s and seeing other people’s reactions.
To anyone who hasn’t played it: please do yourself a favor and pick it up. And go in completely blind. It’s such a unique experience.
News@lemmy.world•Third person arrested in death of Tasia Fortune, as police say hanging was stagedbyI_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world
5 daysI mean… It’s rope. I keep like 500ft of paracord in my car. Why? A million different reasons. It’s just useful to have on hand. I also have a roll of duct tape, a lighter, an emergency whistle, and 2 full sets of clothes. They fit in the storage compartment under the floor of my trunk.
You know what? Unpopular opinion time.
Cheddar is a god-tier cheese and puts European cheese to shame.
It can be made sharp or mild, hard or creamy, white or yellow,. It easily melts in a perfect way. It keeps incredibly well. Pairs well with almost everything. It can be improved by aging or smoking (and holy shit if you have not tried a good smoked cheddar you are missing out on life).
You can take any fancy, high-end cheese and there is some variant of cheddar that can go toe-to-toe with it.
The only reason it’s snubbed as common and low-quality is because it’s cheap and used so ubiquitously. But the reason for that is because, again, cheddar is a god-tier cheese.
And yes, I know cheddar was first created in England, but the US is responsible for industrializing and popularizing it.
News@lemmy.world•Why California Is Reconsidering Its Decision to Shun Nuclear PowerbyI_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world
22 daysIt is. It’s ridiculously cheap. It’s only the regulations and bureaucracy surrounding it that make it so expensive. It goes beyond safety and into unreasonable requirements spawned by decades of attempts to appease NIMBYS whos entire knowledge of “nuclear” is restricted bombs and Chernobyl. There are also the countless officials and agencies who created needless red tape to benefit themselves, or had a vested interest in seeing nuclear fail.
Let me be ABUNDANTLY clear: safety regulations and red tape ARE good. Holy shit, please do not think I am arguing against them wholesale. But regulations on nuclear plants go so far beyond what is actually needed that it balloons costs and time-frames to multitudes of what they should be.
It feels completely disingenuous to use those excess costs to argue that nuclear is expensive, because they are entirely our own fault that they’re there. It’s like saying running a mile is too painful, but then it turns out you shoot yourself in the leg every time before you try. The issue isn’t running the mile, it’s that you choose to shoot yourself in the leg. You shouldn’t be able to use that to argue against running a mile.
Technology@lemmy.world•Linus Torvalds used AI to fix a Linux bug, and now LLM critics on Linux face an uncomfortable choicebyI_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.worldEnglish
1 monthPeople who are vehemently against any form of AI will be left behind. That may be difficult to hear, and even more difficult to accept, but that is the cold, hard, truth.
Its a tool, and just like any tool it has uses. It can be used inappropriately, and it’s valid to criticize those instances. But if you are plugging your ears and going “Lalala!” when people talk about actual valid use cases, or stubbornly pretending that it has none, you will be left behind.
You will be like office employees from the 80’s and 90’s who refused to use a computer and then suddenly found themselves without a job. It’s your choice if you use it or not. It’s also every company’s choice to not hire you because of your unwillingness to adapt.
If you haven’t learned it yet, this is your warning and your wake-up call: Learn how to use AI now, or find a different career. It’s not going away, no matter how much you may bitch and moan. There will soon be two classes of people, those who learned how to use this emerging technology, and those who refused. Things will be much harder for that second group.
I don’t say this to be snarky or smug. I hate AI myself, but I also recognize how fucking stupid I’d have to be to refuse to use it. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but it’s also the truth.

In case you didn’t know, this is fake.
You don’t even have to look it up to tell, just use some basic common sense.
