Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeatedly warned on Tuesday of what he claimed was unusually high voter turnout in Arab communities, accusing Arab voters and left-wing parties of trying to “steal the election.”
In a series of social media posts, Netanyahu shared photos of Arab citizens casting their ballots alongside images of supposedly empty polling stations in cities considered Likud strongholds.
“Steal” the election by going out to vote while your voters stay home. He explained in text with supporting imagery how this wasn’t fake votes for his opponents or discarded votes from his supporters, but calls it stealing nevertheless.
Also, I don’t know what Israel’s voting situation is like, but crowded polling places in minority areas and empty (i.e., fast and convenient) polling places in majority areas sounds like the intended results of voter suppression efforts.

The right has become way too comfortable with the idea that they’re the only legitimate side to govern any country. It’s “stealing” because it’s “rightfully theirs”, and any attempt to take that power, however legitimate, is an affront, an offence.

conservatives do not respond well to change thats why, they can only survive in stable enviroment.

It isn’t about right vs left in Israel. This is about apartheid and racism because those “pesky Arabs” shouldn’t even be allowed to vote. They even tried to make Arab/Palestinian parties illegal and ineligible to run for elections. That’s a good chunk of the rhetoric in israel.

Closely related to their love for hierarchies as the “natural order”. Democracy is fine as long as it solidifies the rule of the politicians they stupidly identify with. As soon as progressives gain power and start actually representing disenfranchised people, this order is violated, and that feels to conservatives like society itself is crumbling and any means are justified to “fix” it. Up to collaborating with fascists that promise to make us go away.

There have been countless reports of Palestinians with Israeli citizenship being asked arbitrary questions, being held up for hours from voting, or the voting locations randomly shutting down for no reason.

And yet they increased their parties’ number of Knesset seats significantly.

Watch them pull a trump and not honor the election results.

Just like Trump, the only way he can win is by cheating and depriving people of their votes.

It’s hard to view Israeli politics from a western perspective
Most other parties have much softer stances on the West Bank, for example
None of the likely future PMs have a substantially different policy on Gaza
There is a bit of variety of opinions of Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan, although most plan to annex them eventually

He already did. He lost in 2021 and stepped down. He’ll likely step down again.

Probably. My read is that Israel has one more electoral cycle in it, maybe two, before the the fascism completely overwhelms their democracy, but for now I don’t think Netanyahu has the public support necessary to pull of a violent takeover. It’d be a different story if the pro-genocide bloc (aka most of the Jewish population) felt genuinely threatened, but Netanyahu’s two most likely successors are both firmly pro-genocide so it’s basically just Netanyahu’s political fortunes and how fast the West Bank gets ethnically cleansed at stake.

He will lose, he can’t hold it together, not after 10/7 and his failure to be the law and order prime minister.
The new government will be even worse though from what I hear.

The opposite is true and I"ve been saying it since 10/8. I’ve been right so far. His coalition could already have failed if I was wrong. I believe I will continue to be right.

I think Israel’s population is about 20% Arabic outside the Palestinian territories. If you choose to count Palestinian territories then it’s about 50%.
