  • For me it was the feeling of feeling better. I’ve always been overweight but it’s a downward spiral. The heavier I got the worse I felt and the worse I felt the less I felt like doing and the more weight I gained. You never want to get to that point and it happens faster than you think. Once I started losing weight I generally felt better and until I blew out my knee I was going to the gym regularly.

The gym can definitely help you lose weight but it’s not how you lose weight. Your diet is how you lose weight, don’t go on a diet, change your diet. Going to the gym will help you become healthier by building muscle, getting cardio, and staying active. Going to the gym will help you improve your health faster, your diet will make you fat or skinny but it will never make you healthy. Just be active and eat what your body needs, not delicious junk food.

Just start moving more in general. Once you feel you have plateaued then see if the gym works for you or not. Just move your body, as I’m typing this I’m reminded that I really need to move more often.

  • Boomers paying $200 a month for cable just to watch local News that they can get for free, telling me that everything on Netflix is garbage. I’m not saying that everything on Netflix isn’t garbage but I question their ability to make informed decisions.

  • The only time I really use “AI” is to summarize web searches and occasionally perform tedious tasks like adding filler to documents and cleaning up documents. It’s very useful for note taking during meetings. My company wants us to use it more but I can’t really find a really useful task for it, my job is literally to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME), so I can’t really think of a good use for it outside of what was mentioned above.

Cold truth is once “AI” becomes reliable enough and my company can add it to my tools without creating a security risk, then I wouldn’t need as many CAD operators anymore, it’s just a matter of when. Better for some, worse for others. The only thing stopping this from happening now is they think we are already using/training “AI”. But the share holders are going to love it once we remove about $1mil of cost and the customer would never know the difference. Depending on who’s reading this, that could be a positive outcome because the cost of “AI” is a small percentage of what the employee costs.
