2 daysYou’re supposed to leave the beef wrapped in the plastic to thaw it like that. 🤢 I like girl dinner better.

I miss r/forbidden snacks
Basically for posting things that looked delicious but we’re in fact, not food.
Oh god. This just reminded me that I had to teach this guy I dated that you can defrost things in the container they came in. I don’t know why, but he had it in his head that if you keep it in the original packaging it keeps the cold in forever(?) and it’ll never defrost. He used to do this exact thing. He would just open a whole package of beef or chicken breast and dump it into water or on a plate and just leave it to defrost for hours. I am mostly just assuming it’s more sanitary to keep things in the sealed packaging for as long as possible, but it just seemed so gross to leave things open on the counter for hours. This post gave me flashbacks. Really wish that whole time had stayed forgotten. Thanks OP.
I hope someday it just blows his mind when he learns that you can just move stuff to the fridge a day before you need it.

You can also just cook frozen ground beef. If the first step is browning the meat in the pan, just toss the frozen brick in there.
You’re still out of luck if you want hamburgers or meatloaf or something.
With chicken, you can just put it in the oven or crock pot still frozen, just allow extra time to cook and temp it first. It’s best to cook it in sauce or something if you’re gonna do that though since you can’t really season frozen chicken.

I mean, there is an element of truth to what he’s saying. The styrofoam packaging does do a good job at insulating its contents and it will thaw much faster if you remove it, BUT you should place it in a bag if you’re going to use water.
Thawing in water is fine to do, there are methods for using cold water baths and, if using thin cuts, warm water baths. Either way, you have to know what you’re doing and it’s not a “set it and forget it” process.
Thawing on the counter is dangerous though. Don’t do that.

Ooooohhh, look at Dr. Fancy Pants with the refrigerator. Some of us store our beef in the snowbank, like Men.

HEY! Mind your own goddamned whoreson business, before someone minds it for you

Oh, I hit a nerve!
And something smells fishy.
Are you sure the snowbank is still cooling or has it fallen victim to a remote attack and started heating instead?
If you make this for me, you better let me sink my beef into your ass afterwards

3 daysI love “sink beef” by Boy Dinner, truly underrated. Glad to see it getting some recognition it deserves.

Toss in some potatoes, onions, and carrots. Add heat and spices. You’ve got yourself a stew going!

I can’t be the only one who’s done this, I know because that isn’t my picture.

For this to be a “boy dinner” post the title need to be something that sounds like a lyric from an 80s country song. “My girl left me and took the truck. Now my dog is sick, I got no luck”
