• Christ, does anyone want to start a small fund to pay me to go ask these assholes these questions?

Cops like to hit women but let’s see them go after a middle-aged, conservative-looking white dude with privilege.

          • I’d really rather just ask them tough questions on camera, because someone fucking has to.

I live in a red area of a not-red state and these people, my neighbors? Most of them aren’t intentionally evil. They’re propagandized because they don’t ever see any actual news about politics.

As a former Republican: Most Republican voters would not vote for Republicans if they had accurate information about both parties.

            • Yeah asking questions and changing minds is one of the best things someone like you can work to do

Harris is a POS, he was touting his status as a doctor, telling people it was all overblown and not to wear masks.

    • And yet here in Ohio, Amy Acton (an actual doctor who was the head of the states medical department during COVID) is getting raked over the coals for every trivial thing about her mIsHaNdLiNg of the states COVID response…by the people who said COVID was bullshit

      • A friends kid has been seeing those commercials and told her mom recently “Amy Acton drinks drugs.”

So we’ve been having a laugh at that for a while.

Amy Acton eats foods. Amy Acton walks dogs. Amy Acton blinks too loud. Etc.

  • Everybody needs to see that second video, where he demands that only a specific reporter isn’t allowed to record him because it’s a two party state, and he doesn’t give HER permission, even though it’s a public forum, and there are a dozen other reporters recording. And then he demands an officer come over and arrest her for violating the two party recording law, before walking away, telling the other reporters to blame HER for not getting their uncomfortable questions answered.

What a coward, and a MAGA Traitor Pedophile.

    • I live in a two party consent state same as Maryland and the law only applies if you have an expectation of privacy. There is no expectation of privacy in a public place OR in a crowd of people.

    • The funniest thing was when the reporter handed her camera to another person and asked them to record for her. She technically wasn’t recording him.

      • Yeah, that was awesome. He thinks he’s getting one over on her, so she just says “Here you hold it” to her colleague, and then goes on asking her question, WHICH HE CLEARLY DIDN’T WANT TO ANSWER!

        Hilarious.

    • Thank you for doing what this article failed to do and describing that Twitter-hosted video. Hopefully it’s uploaded to a better network.

      • Wow, that is some MASSIVE sovcit energy 🤣

The nice part is that now, any journalist who comes into his proximity will know that it’s a good idea to memorize that section of Maryland state law, and specifically where it is not applicable (public forums), to quote at him, chapter and verse

      • Just a heads up, that site immediately started trying to get me to install malware, make sure you got protection

          • altr

I just switched to base Firefox so I must have something misconfigured.

            • Probably running ads from some service that doesn’t do enough oversight. (And enough isolation of the ad JavaScript, by the looks of it.)

            • Yeah, I didn’t try it in mobile either. I’ll see if I can’t make a video out of it myself.

    • Conservatives are all cowards. I’ve never met one with values that withstood the slightest scrutiny. Their god is Money, their religion is Greed, and Bigotry is their gospel.

    • Oh my god, I cringed so hard I’m gonna need physical therapy. I wonder if he felt good about that encounter walking away.

      • Oh, No, he’s going to play this encounter over in his head every single day for the rest of his life. This was the incident that ended his political career.

        • 2 days

These morons aren’t that self-aware. He’s going to think he was in the right to his dying day, and declare himself a victim over any negative consequences from it.

In a room full of reporters, Andy expects to ride on the expectation of privacy? He doesn’t even have a fucking idea how that works.

    • Let’s not forget he insulted the reporter for not knowing the law.

    • Yep, and we have not even begun changing course on being a joke. Its still full speed ahead. The republicans are still evil and clueless and the dems have changed nothing since Biden/Harris shat the bed and lost. Even out of power the Dems are delivering on their promise that “nothing will fundamentally change”.

No politicians from either party ever mention the Mossad Epstein operation, or the Palestinian, Syrian, and Lebanese holocaust either. Not a single word in years.

      • We got a few DSA candidates that won primaries, so assuming they win the general, it’s not all doom and gloom.

        • Did he? Its hard to tell because I’m getting real tired of Biden/Harris/Trumps versions of “winning”. For the love of god can the centrists stop this “winning”? Just go back to the stuff the voters actually want, like ending genocide support, end collusion with the kleptocrats, pay attention to civil rights, and prosecute the effing pedo Epstein criminals.

Did Biden get any of that done? Last I heard he was ending ‘occupy’ and ‘defund’ and boosting cop funding as an eff-you-for-bringing-even-iit-up, and assuring the elite that “nothing will fundamentally chAnge” electing him over trump. And it sure seems like the current centrist dem leadership is ditching LGBTQ and continuing to ignore the genocide while tickling the balls of the kleptocrats. Newsom is a top candidate for president and he is nuking tax increases for the rich while trying to enshrine laws that we are necver allowed to propose a wealth tax again (prop 42). Is this what winning looks like to you and the the Dem leadership? You seem to be their spokesman and cheerleader, want to comment?

    • Today? We’ve been a joke, a dark, bad one, for longer than this. We’ve just dropped the pretense of being a serious nation and the macabre circus we are.

    • We need to stop treating it like a joke and instead start treating it as a threat. Things are not going to get better if we don’t start doing something about it. Voting is a start. Other countries need to stop complying. Introduce sanctions. Register trump and his administration a terrorist group. Do literally anything other than wait and hope it fixes itself.

      • I’m not in America. My country and its citizens already treat it as a threat largely. It’s still a joke of a country regardless.

        • Joke is putting it lightly and can be easily brushed off. Its much more serious and needs to be treated like a threat against humanity.

            • I don’t know what the point of your reply is. I understand the president of the country I’m in is a terrorist. I don’t support it. I also don’t support other countries giving into his every whim.

Im sick of people saying it’s a joke and not doing anything to stop it. It’s affecting the world, not just the failure that America is.

              • You’re an American telling a non-American how America needs to be treated…

Sorry bud but you don’t get to dictate the way non-Americans feel or act. We’ve been responding to this shit for years, we already know how bad it is.

Americans are ultimately responsible for how long this shitshow continues. So maybe spend less time lecturing non-Americans about America and spend more time lecturing your countrymen.

Edit: I have no personal qualms with you. I don’t know you. This isn’t solely about you. I hope that’s clear.

  • maga has always tried to make it seem like their views and policies are reasonable and both sides deserve equal weight. It’s a step on the way to critical thinking but they never reach it. The next step is analyze the outcomes and data and causes to come to an informed and accurate conclusion. The maga pointed at all the wrong stuff instead of the real blame, the tariffs and the war for all the higher prices. What a sick excuse to want more pollution for people in the areas near data centers and industrial areas. We deserve cleaner air, land and water, not worse, not regression. The maga way is unacceptable to healthy humanity. Do better!

  • Sounds like he had pre written talking points about fuel prices before the iran war started, and he was like fuck it I’m not going to change them!

  • “The facts are diesel prices have gone up. There’s no question about it. Why has it gone up? Because the Democrats have environmental regulations—” Harris tried to respond, only for audience members to groan, laugh, and shout at the Maryland first district congressman and chair of the right-wing House Freedom caucus.

    …

Shortly after the debate, Harris, a staunch MAGA Republican who has avoided in-person town halls since 2023, tried to get a reporter arrested for recording his speech to a group of journalists. Harris incorrectly stated the reporter was breaking the law as she asked about his support for the war.

    What a F’ing snowflake.

    • Member of the party that wants to inspect genitals in a public bathroom believes he has a right to privacy in a public forum.

  • A day never passes without a Republican confirming that they are delicate snowflakes.

    • Hey if you do your best to seriously fuck over anybody that you disagree with, you’re a loyalist trooper and a good person, right?

  • Wait wait hang on…are the rest of them like this? Can we just get brave journalists with integrity to ask them basic uncomfortable questions (and bring lawyers along!) and they’ll just…throw a little tantrum , say a ton of stupid shit and just leave?

That’s gotta be great for their campaigning.

Man. We gotta do this across the country! Imagine the excellent footage waiting to be mined for entertainment and democracy!

    • You’re describing The Daily Show (and its various offshoots) which, while wonderful, have not fixed the country for the last 30 years.

      • So yeah! Like, hear me out: The collective knowledge, logic, and wit of The Daily Show, but directed right at their faces for all to see.

They call out the hypocrisy, they call out the bullshit, and they ask the inconvenient questions.

Look at what Jon Stewart has done for the 9/11 first responders and veterans the government decided to just discard and ignore.

We need stuff like that. (Selfish of me, but sometimes wish we could practically drag him into the oval office lol.)

You’re right, the shows themselves basically just rally their pre-existing audience, and at worst, act as a form of catharsis that gives the sense that something is already being done. (Entertaining though, love them.)

But what if they were everywhere? If they were present outside of our half of the reality bubble? I think that could be a real force for good.

They have a lot of leverage to cut through the bullshit, especially if it gets a good laugh, and if there’s one thing fascists can’t handle, it’s being laughed at.

That’s gotta be great for their campaigning.

It works for the class of people they’re campaigning to. They say that he’s a great guy and those terrorist reporters are bullying them.

  • He says: “Do you believe in the First Amendment?! Do you believe in my First Amendment right to express myself?!”

Hey asshole Republican, read the First Amendment please. Here I’ll help you: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The people laughing at you aren’t the government. They didn’t even stop you physically from trying to utter your garbage. They just laughed at you. You stopped talking yourself. The First Amendment doesn’t mean people have to listen to you, and it certianly doesn’t shield you from being laughed at when you say stupid shit.

Mr. Republican, the fact that you don’t know how the First Amendment to the US Constitution works should disqualify you from holding the office where your oath includes: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;”

How can you swear to support and defend the Constitution when you haven’t even read the thing?

  • They literally believe the first amendment is there to protect their feelings.

    • From the article:

“This is the problem,” Harris complained to the crowd. “You all say you believe there’s a First Amendment, but only if you agree with you. You should let me finish the sentence, ma’am. You are rude!”

Quite literally thinks it’s his first amendment right not to get shouted at when complete horse shit comes from his mouth.

  • Let’s game this out. Assume what he was saying is true. Prices went up because Democrats have environmental regulations. Ok, cool. So the Democrats are protecting the environment? What an excellent endorsement.

When did prices shoot up? Just this year, right? Did the Democrats add these regulations this year then? Even though the House, Senate, and White House are controlled by Maga, somehow the party controlling all branches of the federal government was sidelined and wasn’t able to stop it. Is he saying the Maga party, and by extension the President, is weak and feckless? Bold of him to say.

However, Occam’s Razor tends to indicate he is full of crap, and that disel prices went up due to fallout from an unwinnable war, initiated by a feckless President, as a distraction from the allegations that he raped children.

Either way, good on the Democrats for protecting the environment, I suppose.

    • Prices went up because Democrats have environmental regulations. Ok, cool.

Conservatives (regressives) refuse to accept higher prices for anything, including a higher quality of life. This, of course, only holds true until someone they elected skyrockets their cost of living and then the excuses come pouring in. The problem is they keep electing failures that skyrocket their cost of living without offering them anything in return.

Sometimes you have to pay more for nicer things. Here’s a good example. I’ve spent my entire life in The Valley in California. When I was a kid I’d come down out of the Sierras on the freeway in the summer and you could literally see a thick layer of smog covering the valley with the tops of the skyscrapers peaking out above that layer. Then CA got serious about fuel refinement standards and SMOG laws and now that layer is all but gone. So I pay more TO BREATHE CLEANER AIR. And there’s way more people/cars in this valley than there used to be, so these regulations REALLY worked.

And like you mentioned, the cost of living skyrocketing is so clearly and obviously tied to this admin’s awful policies that there’s no argument in reality against it. The problem is we’re all trying to point this out to actual, literal cult members.

  • Republicans are enemies of America. At this point they have abandoned the constitution and are nothing more than pathetic Nazis. If you try to fuck the press you are an enemy of the constitution.
