Wanted to just hang out resting with my wife today

I went to work, then therapy, then home where I watched YouTube and napped. I didn’t want to work, but have to to keep living.
I dropped off some drycleaning, got gas for both my car and lawnmower, and dropped off a poop sample to my vet. Oh, and a bit of yardwork. And yes, it’s exactly what I wanted to be doing.

I did exactly what I wanted to be doing all day. Woke up with to some slow cooker stew that cooked through the night, played some video games and watched some shows, relaxed and read some book, even went and celebrated an in laws birthday. Now I’m in bed cuddling the dog, waiting for the wife to get her cute ass in here for epic cuddle time before we start the week again. We work opposite shifts during the weeks, so the cuddles are extra important to make up for never seeing each other lol

I’ve recently gotten into the world of top down roguelikes. I got introduced to tales of maj’eyal about a month ago and I’ve been having a blast failing headfirst into that game.
Thanks for introducing me to DCSS just now! Can’t wait to try it out.

I’ve been playing DCSS for a few years and the furthest I’ve ever gone was collecting one rune (Snake Pits).
I like that it’s permadeath, the dungeons are procedurally generated, and that releases with new mechanics come out regularly so it doesn’t get stale. Over my short tenure, I’ve seen a few races, classes, equipment types, and mechanics (food was a mechanic awhile ago) come and go. With that said there are many backgrounds, classes, equipment, and dieties so actual play can have quite a lot of variability.
I usually play on crawl.dcss.io via ssh, you can find my player characters in the morgue by looking for player “kaleh”
Go get killed in D:3 by a pack of gnolls, I highly recommend :)

It was my last official day at the animal rescue for the year. There is still other stuff I can do, but this was my last day with my regular team. So that was a little sad, but I went with 2 of my friends there to hot pot for lunch afterwards. So I really enjoyed that.
I had a great time feeding the baby mice today, which I do not usually enjoy, but they were so sweet today! It was nice to end the term on a surprise high note.
I did get bit by another squirrel, but not near as bad as last week, so that’s neutral, just part of the game, and it’s rainy and bleh from this noreaster storm, but otherwise a great day and all went as planned!

Work, during which I’m kind of procrastinating.
Tonight my wife will be at the gym so I might finish a garden project.
Then dinner and tidying up.
Followed by video games and then bed.
I’d reckon my day will be about 30% what I want to do which is just slightly above my usual average.
I worked a full shift, which is not what I wanted to do.
But I did make an awesome lunch which is what I wanted to do.
But it got cut short when I had to deal with a work emergency, which is not what I wanted to do.
But I also got to text with my crush all day which is what I wanted to do.
You texted your crush all day? Why don’t you just wait to see them in person?

I spent a large portion of the day debugging open source software and yes, I enjoyed doing that. It would of course have been more convenient if someone else had already done it, but it does give me a nice sense of accomplishment to contribute to the community.

I’m the son of a junkie, worked hard for a career for ten years then Trump/Musk ended it, I haven’t had a woman romantically involved with me in over 22 years, my mortgage eats over half of the money I make in a month, drinking isn’t fun anymore, I’m broke, and I just started delivering mail at 40 years old. It has been raining on me all day for the last two days at work. I’m old and done with everything.

Took the fire truck out at 4am to attend a fire call(very small, back in 50min).
Washed and dried 3kg of bulk Lego that I bought a month ago.
Played 2x Azul 3P. On the grey, trickier side of the board.
So, yes. Pretty much what I wanted to be doing 🙂

Woke up super late because I couldn’t sleep last night, started a new loaf of garlic Parmesan sourdough bread, played Stardew Valley for a bit, and then watched the latest episode of Lanterns (which was excellent!).
Overall not a bad day, and I enjoyed it. I just wish I could do a normal day like this without the constant background noise of stress and anxiety (Θ︹Θ)
I made rice. Like stand and wash it forever rice. Normally I cook the fastest thing, but today I made rice.
It sounds stupid, I know.

Rinse a cup of rice in a strainer under the tap, bang it in a pressure cooker with a cup of water for ten minutes, congrats you just saved half an hour
