Ok, haha, amazing…
Except for the killing kids thing. Let’s not associate feminism with killing kids, even as a joke. Abortion is not “killing kids” and we shouldn’t even put that within proximity of verification…- 26 days
Some things are better to only joke about among people you know. When my wife says “I’m going to kill our son”, I feel safe laughing about it. He’s maddening, and he saves the worst of it for us. He’s lucky he’s cute.
But when a stranger jokes about something like this, there has to be a whole supporting context for transgressive comedy to seem safe and therefore funny.
Isn’t comedy theory boring? Anyway

Except this is a quote from Pat Robinson. It’s powerful for us to take his scare mongering and respond with “based”
- 26 days
Yes, I understand that that is how most people see it, and I would, except that killing children is objectively not based and people still beleive we are genuinely doing that. So this means you can’t say “based” to this and not actually look evil at this time because of the accepted zeitgeist.

The fact people are still thinking that abortion and birth control is "killing children " makes it vital we ridicule it in exactly this way. If we hush hush about it we give them the power.

From the 60s, which has been rejected from all reasonable people who recognize him as a chud. If you find anyone who supports this vernacular in this day and age, they’re worth ignoring at best, attacking (politically) at worst.
- Nalivai@lemmy.worldEnglish26 days
Majority of the people currently in power in US not only support this, but they actively working to make it a mainstream rhetoric.
- Nurse_Robot@lemmy.worldEnglish27 days
If we don’t make fun of people who say this, then we’ve lost. They’re worth mocking, even if you don’t like it.
- prettybunnys@piefed.socialEnglish26 days
Heard.
Clutching pearls about the way someone others you is some victim shit.
They say wild ass shit let’s show how absolutely worth ridicule they are.
- QueenHawlSera@piefed.socialEnglish26 days
Yeah, but they’re talking about abortion. Giving a woman the right to choose what she gets to do with her body is pretty based/
- HappyFrog@lemmy.blahaj.zoneEnglish26 days
Yeah, I agree, I just find it a little icky to talk about child murder positively, even if it’s not actual murder.
- Jarix@lemmy.worldEnglish26 days
I assume killing children means using birth control(because asshats think that’s what it means)
- Soggy@lemmy.worldEnglish27 days
Same reason “witchcraft” uses like five different typefaces, I imagine. Just a grab bag of assorted letters.

Iv always said women don’t kill their husbands nearly as often as they should
- kurwa@lemmy.worldEnglish26 days
It’s funny because men are the ones often leaving their children, and killing their wives too!
- captainlezbian@lemmy.worldEnglish26 days
I’ve never had a husband or kids, but feminism has helped me to succeed at the rest

Women are so attractive I’m shocked when any of them pick any of us.

Hmm…
Not to call things out too early, but, to the degree that you actually do feel this way you’re describing… You know that if you don’t like it, you don’t have to be a man, right?
