15 hoursThe killer got 15 months in jail. Impossible to imagine somebody would get 15 months of jail for throwing a chair at a judge. So, almost surely not.
If that affects it at all, it decreases the punishment the father will get. If the ruling had immediately been 15 months, the throwing would have been much less justified and whatever punishment he gets would be therefore harsher.

I think they finally fixed it in Denmark. That would be called hazardous driving and someone just got 4 years for killing someone due to it. The sentence was reduced since he showed remorse, could have gone all the way up to 10 years.

Er forholdet begået i forbindelse med spirituskørsel, overtrædelse af færdselslovens § 54, stk. 1 eller 2, særligt hensynsløs kørsel eller de groveste hastighedsovertrædelser, anses dette som en særligt skærpende omstændighed.

If I were the killer in that situation, not that I ever would be, I would actually want to be given a harsher sentence than that. Because what we just witnessed in that video is the creation of a vigilante. When the government won’t seek justice for people whose lives are completely ruined, those people will seek justice themselves, and I don’t want to receive that sort of justice.
The good thing is, as the second link in the post says, the driver eventually did get a jail sentence of over one year.

I’m always a bit nervous when driving in cities that someone will jump in front of my car on purpose to get hit and scam me.
When I first saw this sentencing I wondered if that was what happened and it went wrong.
But clearly the system is just broken to only get such a small offense. I wonder if the defendant is related to someone powerful.

Could have done without the calm down. It doesn’t make right how the judge made such an absurd judgement the first go round. We will be calm if stupid ‘punishments’ aren’t dished out in the first place. And if people became more responsible in the death boxes on the roadways.

In the Netherlands as well it’s fucking egregious. This is a country which places exceptionally high standards on driver behaviour and has, for decades, had a concerted effort to discourage car use full stop.

I get the implication. I am just fairly certain they didn’t watch the video or read the corresponding linked articles. So their comment makes them seem lazy or stupid since they couldn’t even be bothered to pay attention to what they commented on.
Shoehorning unrelated shit into this isn’t clever.
