Here’s a comprehensive list of things the DNC will accomplish given the chance:

Things to do
- Don’t raise minimum wage.
- Don’t pass universal healthcare (40+ year streak).
- Don’t increase social programs.
- Don’t reduce military spending.
- Don’t increase taxes to pre-Reagan levels (40+ year streak)
I don’t think they can avoid federal minimum wage increase any longer, maybe I’m wrong on that one.
I vote every election, and you should too. Because it’s funny

I’m looing forward to the excuses again.
We didn’t have a super majority so we couldn’t even try.
Well we can’t upset the Senate norms.
What would happen if we did that and Republicans took back control?
Fetterman is an important and vital Democrat.

15 hoursFetterman is an important and vital Democrat.
How that ass hasn’t already been kicked to the curb, I don’t know. Is he even still caucusing with Democrats? he’s promoting republican candidates and republican conventions.

Start with three big challenges. First, a lot of those who voted for Democrats are expecting action to improve their economic conditions: Run on affordability, you better improve affordability. Second, and related, with Democrats holding a sizable piece of power in Washington, the failures of policy driven by the reckless Trump and his administration could be blamed on them—and it is a sure thing that hundreds of millions will be spent by Trump allies to try to pin the problems on the Democrats. Americans already think Washington isn’t working; if it looks like Democrats are a part of the problem and not of the solution, that could have brutal consequences in 2028.
Third, it is clear that the Democratic Party base wants toughness and serious pushback against the corruption, misconduct, and mayhem that are the core of Trump’s presidency. Witness the negative reaction to the private meeting between House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, looking for areas of possible common ground after January 3. Rank-and-file Democrats want pushback, not compromise. Of course, compromise will be necessary to meet the first challenge of improving people’s economic circumstances. But if it is not led by Democrats using every tool at their disposal to name names, kick ass, and stop further destruction, there will be hell to pay with the base.
TLDR:
Don’t be a neoliberal…
It’s literally that easy, and considering the voting members of the DNC pivoted 20 months ago, there’s no reason to assume incoming dem leadership will be the same shitty neoliberals as this current Congress.
- 17 hours
The DNC has had the same neoliberals running the party for decades. They will not retire because the new generation of Americans is not worthless.

Israel has the DNC bought and paid for. Political corruption has completely broken American politics.
Maybe just vote for the candidates that spend the least on elections rather than parties.
If you hate money in politics, stop voting for it

No, I think we’ll just get called Nazi-equivalent if we don’t vote for lesser of two evils were told to vote for the next time around, as it has been for 50 years.
Edit: And let me clarify before any other illiterate people get confused about it. If you want to vote for someone, you should vote for them. I am not telling anybody not to vote. Please go and vote for whoever you want to vote for - it is your very important right to vote in whatever way you like.
- 13 hours
I suppose if you prefer the way Republicans run the government more than Democrats, then yea vote for anyone but the Democrat candidate in the general.
- 17 hours
Well there are quite a few progressives that are running this time around so I would suggest that if you’re tired of having crap centrists that do fuck all, then go and donate and vote for them if they’re in your district/state.

Good thing you waited till a month before the midterm to convince the left to just not vote at all instead of pushing for a candidate you wanted in the primaries…
Silver lining tho, after a decade of this shit I hope people don’t fall comments like yours again
mfed1122@discuss.tchncs.deEnglish
18 hoursI didn’t tell anyone not to vote. Everyone should vote for who they want to. If someone wants to vote, then by all means, please do. Everyone should vote for whoever they want to vote for.
The only person telling people how to vote and being a dick about it is you.

If you’re pedantic point here is voting for “libertarians”…
That’s the same as not voting.
People should have a problem with our party systems, but pretending it’s not what it is because that upsets you is childish.
Very few problems are solvable by pretending the problem doesn’t exist
mfed1122@discuss.tchncs.deEnglish
17 hoursThe only thing that I said was that there will not be hell to pay for the Democrats if they do not enact any meaningful change. And, indeed, there won’t be, because if they did win this next time around, and they didn’t enact any meaningful change, and then next time around, when it came time to vote again, we would be having the exact same discussion, and I would be lampooned in the exact same way, for the exact same reasons that you’ve already laid out right here and now. And so very plainly there will not be hell to pay for the Democrats.
What would hell to pay consist of if not them not being voted for?
And so if you agree that we all must vote for the Democrats, for the presidential election, then I don’t see how that isn’t equivalent to saying there won’t be hell to pay for Democrats.
- givesomefucks@lemmy.worldEnglish16 hours
I legitimately don’t understand what you’re even trying to say…
