It’s Lemmy so I feel compelled to ask… You want to die as Henry Cavill watching Kevin Costner get choked out by an anime chick?
As Kevin Costner being choked out an anime chick while Henry Cavill watches?

The type of loss is important. The original version was Pa Kent dying from a heart attack or stroke or similar.
This teaches Clark the important lesson that despite all his power, there are people he cannot save. He decides to try anyway.
That scene teaches the exact opposite lesson. That having the power to save someone doesn’t mean you should.
Later in the movie Superman kills thousands of people in order to murder one guy.

But he first revealed himself to the military and got their approval, so it’s all okay.
You know, instead of being seen day in and out saving people from the everyday dangers of living in a city. Gaining a groundswell of acceptance as the elite “Lex Luthor” plot his destruction.
