In 1972, Okinawa prefecture was returned to Japanese control after United States forces occupied the islands at the end of the Second World War. Since then, there have been 6,409 arrests for criminal offenses related to US military personnel

    Intolerable, but also unsurprising.

    • Like I said in another comment. It’s a very common trend in places that have American bases. The worst part is that they will shield the perpetrators and transfer them to the US where they get slaps on the wrist.

      Just one example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teo_Peter

  • Guns, violence and death are the primary exports of the US. It’s time to show them the door and deny all US citizens entry to any country in the world.

    • That is an extreme generalization to group all US citizens under and advocate for collective punishment. This is the same type of rhetoric used by Trump, and using it is disgraceful.

      • This was obviously an emotional response to vent off, and taking in consideration how much more harmful the US has become in recent times, it should be understandable.

        • Emotional venting is understandable, but please try to be more responsible with it. Saying things like that can very quickly rile up others and spiral. As harmful as the US has been lately, the last thing any of us need is for that hate to spread other places. Most people in the US agree with you that what has been happening is unacceptable.

      • The US starts wars over resources, including pertroleum/gas. So your chart supports my idea to some degree. Besides, why did you miss the point of me being polemic? Wasn’t it obvious that this was an emotional response and not a factual one? This is a rhetorical question. I’m not interested in a deeper discussion, you’ve misunderstood that. I was just venting off steam.

      • There’s a great deal of violence around all those products in the bottom left corner and the purple section, without which most of the rest of that board doesn’t exist or at least not to the same extent.
