That’s really bizzare, on lemmy instances, even the poster’s home instance, it’s tiny and blurry, but on piefed instances (I’ve tried piefed.social and piefed.world) it shows up fine. Just obe of the mysteries of the fediverse I guess.
I think it’s legit just displaying the thumbnail image as the main image for some reason, so yeah probably a compression algorithm shit the bed. Never seen this on Lemmy before though, kinda curious what broke to cause this.
It looks fine on this instance. Maybe it’s a .world media storage thing going on.

Using the Jerboa app right now, so the client app might have half of something to do with it…

My favorite part was when Zaslav announced Max would be rebranded as HBO Max two years later, claiming, “HBO’s prestigious reputation was too valuable” as if that weren’t something everyone but him knew all along.

Wrong pixelformat. RGB interpreted as YCbCr. Half the bit depth, too.

Not that buying a custom, $100 million yacht is, in itself, a terrible thing, I mean, apart from the environmental issues, but I feel like it’s just a matter of time before a few skeletons break out of his closet.
Ye, no such thing as an ethical billionaire. I just mean that as far as billionaire CEO’s go you can definitely find worse. He’s done a much better job of keeping his evil tendencies (should they exist) under wraps.

I feel like even with the yatches, or perhaps even because of the yatches, of all the money people around, Gabe is among the ones who more or less get it right in that he uses the money for Himself stuff, instead of say financing the IDF. Compare, say, JKR or the Mullvad CEO.

Buying a yacht is seems to be one of those things only senselessly rich people buy. Like I can’t imagine any world in which I would ever want a yacht; what’s the point other than to show off?

The image is crystal clear on my end. I’m a member of lemmy.world and using the Jerboa app.
I’m gonna save this post to investigate later, just out of curiosity, because seriously the posted screenshot image appears crystal clear on my end, and I don’t think OP edited their post.

That’s weird. Maybe because I use “always load high quality” somewhere in settings?
I wondered, too. But, I’m on desktop and I think the poor images are on phones.
Actually he wanted to sell it to Netflix (which is marginally better) but the shareholders choose Paramount because it offers way more money for the valuation of WB IIRC
