Sensory seeking stuff to stabilise an ADHD brain is a classic. I recently found that wobble cushions are used for ADHD kids (a 80-90% inflated exercise cushion pad thing) and they work surprisingly well as either directly sat on seat cushions or as wobbly foot rests for ADHD adults too. It helps they aren’t that expensive either!

Comradeship // Freechat@lemmygrad.ml•Should Marxist-Leninists fight toward the dismantling of the “welfare state”?byzedcell@lemmygrad.ml
2 daysThe State guaranteeing employment is still not enough, because the Keynesian systems post ww2 tried just that and began to creak and break in the 1970s leading to the neoliberal counter-reform faction winning power. The spiralling is just the usual cycles of capitalism throwing chunks of workers on the scrap heap when they fail or need to “cut the fat” to not collapse during crises of overproduction.
This argument (and I get that you aren’t the one actually making it) slips back into economism and the false dichotomy of workers vs welfare users. Many workers aren’t stupid enough to fall for it, but the imperial core does have a substantial base of Petit-Bourgeois owners and strata of workers that will happily latch on to it to try and sustain their position. It /should/ be easy to refute but whether or not we have the right conditions to have our ideas take hold is another thing entirely.

4 daysAs much as the welfare state is paid for in part (or in whole) by imperialism, it is a concrete political demand of the working class that was won with a combination of bitter struggle and concessions strategically granted by the capitalists in the wake of the reshaping of the world post ww2. As such it should be fought for, as an expression of the working class’s political will and autonomy, not simply sought to be dismantled because under capitalism it is paid for with the blood of the global south.

Local (as local as you can get in practice) history books written by Marxists are also great reads for both the seasoned and beginner Marxist. Really helps when you’re grounded in the geography yourself.
