29 daysI don’t know any particulars about this specific case because I did not follow it. But that being said, he doesn’t have to justify his vote in my opinion. There’s a reason we have a jury of multiple people. The entire system was designed specifically for this possibility to arise to put a check on the possibility of mob mentality.
I don’t know if he made the right call. I’m just glad that he has the right to make the call of his conscious in this system.




It gets more nuanced than that the further along the scale of locality you go. When you get to county/city positions and judgeships, there often is no party information to go on and you have to sift through sparse local news coverage (if it exists and hasn’t been bought out by Sinclair) or through individual campaign websites (again, if they exist at all). It actually takes a lot of work to make a well informed decision on the local level.
