My wife’s at a company that has both JP and US branches and the JP side seems a lot more chill with generative AI (although they learned already not to use it in production, only internal visuals and planning). It’s rather unfortunate, although hard to say if they would have hired an illustrator or just gone without visuals.

This is the correct reply. AM is trash, but we even have highway signs that mention AM stations for certain road condition alerts and stuff. Most places don’t rely on it, but when you’re in the mountains it’s useful.

Hell, even here in CA we only barely started getting cell signals in places like Malibu pass and the like. I can usually get cell service and FM on the 5 or PCH but the moment you leave those, all bets are off.

Keep in mind if you transition to Windows you will need to relearn a few things! Lots of your software might have issues and I sure hope you have Nvidia because AMD is straight to broken with all their open source code. Yuck!

Windows is just better (I use Windows 11 PRO BTW) because you get lots of background processes and there’s even a copilot that’s right about stuff sometimes. Microsoft even keeps a backup of lots of your data up in something called a Cloud, which I assume is good because clouds are up there in the sky like heaven!

I sure hope 2026 is the year of the Windows PC!
