  • Not the drugs, just getting IV placement. Which is common. You start taking about getting something like an intraosseous or a central line placed you well out of the expertise they staff those morons for and well into cruel and unusual punishment territory. Of course their lack of ability to place a PIV in so many of these cases already proved that. These idiots actually tried to continue the execution without a patent PIV line, just infiltrating alkaline and tissue toxic drugs into her arm with the associated local damage and hoping enough of the dose would get there in some sort of reasonable time frame. The only execution method unlikely to be botched remains the guillotine.

  • diabetes mellitus just means sweet piss.

Not quite. It more means water passes right though you and tastes sweet. Compare that to diabetes insipidus where you’re pissing out massive amounts of undiluted pee with no taste whatsoever. It’s also another fucking annoying example of mixing Greek and Latin, with diabetes coming from Greek meaning to pass through/siphon and mellitus using a Latin suffix. But that’s pretty much medicine naming in general.

  • I’m not a vegan, but the current state of beekeeping is pretty shit. Taking the honey and replacing it with sugar water on top of the stresses of monoculture and killing varied flora with herbicides creating food deserts and using market conditions to race to the bottom on pollination contracts just results in a whole bunch of dead hives. Like you can both support sustainably practiced beekeeping and find the production of industrial honey to be a horror show.
