It’s certainly a cool tool

It’s certainly a cool tool

That’s an interesting game but it assumes the same amount either in or out all at once. Not what I’m describing where each month you invest a set amount into the market each time. This is what 401ks do. While the beat the couch is pretty cool it doesn’t take into account the dollar cost averaging aspect. It’s all in or all out. It’s not in, then buy more, then buy more, then buy more then buy more etc…you get the picture.
Having said that it is absolutely true that time in the market is better than timing the market.

I doubt it’s the worst financial decision but I paid a lot of money during the iTunes era where you paid a buck for a song.

Need to read a random walk down wall street. Great book. The premise is no matter what news story hits the market, that information is already reflected in the stock price. Therefore, his theory is that you cannot out beat the market and it is in your best interest to dollar cost average a market tracker. That is investing. Myself I believe what you are describing is gambling.

Dude…if it has tits or tires it’s going to cost a lot of money

I was waiting too. Sorry buddy.

Did I say I was an all knowing authority on the Bible? No I’m bringing up counterpoints. That’s how discussions work

Here are some real sources.
L.D. Reynolds & N.G. Wilson, Scribes and Scholars: A Guide to the Transmission of Greek and Latin Literature (Oxford University Press)
Paul Maas, Textkritik — the foundational 20th-century work laying out the method (stemmatics/cladistic analysis of manuscript families) that’s
Martin West, Textual Criticism and Editorial Technique (Teubner)
These compare the methods used on classic literature that society deems as some of the most accurate books and preservation in history. Using those same standards, the Bible becomes an outlier for accuracy.

The amount of biblical reproductions and verifiable copies are factors higher than homers illiad. That’s a fact.

I’ll have to push back there and maybe you have an argument if this was the only time it was talked about in scripture but it is not and it matches the threads of other biblical narratives.
A common thread through the Bible is that families are God’s plan for humans on this side of death. They are good to His kingdom and to promote the values of His love. Now homosexuality would directly go against that narrative so I don’t think the “man to a woman role” is a valid argument anymore. Romans 1 goes through the “homosexuality is bad” too.
Someone else said we are to say the writers of the Bible are wrong and that is a fundamental difference in ideals that we cannot overcome. I believe the Bible is the word of God and it is complete, authoritative and not up for change based on societal influences where that may not be the case for others so we would be arguing from literal difference in fundamental values. And that’s ok to do but no resolution could possibly come out of that.
That is true investing is never not gambling but a lot of people use like their savings for what you would do and that’s the difference. Its like the casino, go into it with the amount of money you are willing to lose. If you can’t lose that money don’t go into the casino. Same principal with individual stock picks and options.
