
I’ve only learned to drive fairly recently so I still remember getting to the point where I’m sort of comfortable with manual shifting. There’s two ways of doing it (that I know of). The simple way: Put it in first gear, then very slowly let the clutch go, don’t touch any other pedal. You’ll find some point where it engages and the car starts creeping forward. A bit further an you’re out of the danger zone and can drive normally. Took me a bunch of tries but I’m reasonably fast with it now without fear of stalling the engine.
The other one is mostly the same idea, but you start accelerating pretty much right when it’s engaging, without really waiting for creep happening. I’ve actually found that easier on some cars, but it’s also a great way of creating interesting noises.

You still will run into issues with certain Bluetooth headphones on Linux because they either need proprietary codecs that just aren’t available or fall back to really shitty ones. Not Linux’ fault, but users will only see (or hear) that it doesn’t work properly.
