I’m a systems librarian in an academic library. I moved over the Lemmy after Rexxit 2023. I’ve had an account on sdf.org since 2009 (under a different username), and so I chose this instance out of a sense of nostalgia. I do all sorts of fiber arts (knitting, cross stitch, sewing) and love dogs.

I was at a conference for librarians and I had a great time. Venders loaded me down with swag (books, totes, stickers, pens, chopsticks) and I attended several eye-opening sessions. We might implement a Library of Things at my library, I’m looking into a vender that simplifies statistics-gathering and -presentation, and I’m generally happy seeing all my fellow library folks.

Oh yeah, I was teasing about the php. From what I’ve read it’s wicked hard to real-world implement an attack using it.
Scrapers, I’d believe. They’ve been fierce lately.

So you’re saying this might all be because of AI (which found the security flaw in PHP, which caused the maintenance, which happened sometime around when the server went down). Sounds fair to me.
💕 Seriously, thanks for the update and I know sysadmining can be a stressy job. Take care of yourself.

Mine are nested, because the old desktop folder lives on the desktop. I haven’t yet hit a limit for how many characters Windows allows in a directory structure. (I know there was one on previous versions of Windows, not sure about the current one)
