  • I wouldn’t be so sure, I can totally see trump pressuring officials into putting him on the ballot and just proceeding as if it were normal while the democrats shout its illegal and don’t so anything about it. turns out it doesn’t matter if it’s illegal of everyone in charge just goes along with it anyway

  • I wouldn’t try unpasteurised cheese from a big US brand, knowing what the hygiene standards and oversight for cattle are like. That said, I’ve regularly eaten unpasteurised cheese from Spain, France and the Netherlands and I don’t think those need to be banned (in the EU or their respective countries). I don’t think they’re comparable to unpasteurised cheese from the US though, especially since the budget cuts to the FDA.

the point is saying unpasteurised cheese is always horribly unsafe is to me wrong. it can be done relatively safely, but in the US currently it will not be done safely.

  • given that by LLMs, people generally refer to the transformer architecture, it definitely wasn’t how google always did search. they famously started out by using pagerank. now, back then this was definitely seen as AI, but what gets called ai by the general public has changed over the last couple of decades. now people use it almost exclusively to refer to deep learning models or even just llms.

so yes, in a strict sense google has always used ai for search. but when the general public says AI now, they usually mean llms specifically and using that to replace actually going to the source websites is new
