U.S. Is Acting Rashly: International Affairs Analyst

Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) – Kim Myong Chol, an international affairs analyst of the DPRK, released the following article “The U.S. is acting rashly”:

“Peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait” is something always repeated by the United States and its allies in the international arena.

However, the U.S. has systematically destroyed regional stability and persistently escalated the situation under the pretext of “opposing unilateral attempt at change of phenomenon” in the Taiwan Strait.

The emergence of fighter jets sold by the U.S. on the island of Taiwan a few days ago is another typical example of the U.S. “peculiar contribution” to “peace and stability” of the Taiwan Strait.

The U.S. says that the sale of weapons to Taiwan is for “peace in the strait”, but this is nothing but a shameless act of planting a bomb at the gate of other’s house and asserting that the bomb is for ensuring the security of the house.

When the People’s Republic of China and the U.S. established their diplomatic relations, the latter recognized the government of the former as the only legitimate government of China and Taiwan as a part of the former. But the U.S. made it its policy and obligation to sell weapons to Taiwan, irrespective of the change of its administration, and has supported the separatist forces pursuing “Taiwan’s independence” and challenging the “one-China” principle.

In the past decade alone, the cost of munitions supplied by the U.S. to Taiwan in the form of overseas arms sales totaled more than 39 billion US dollars. This includes 11 billion US dollars, the largest-ever arms sales approved by the present U.S. administration at the end of last year.

Not content with this, the U.S. has made it a fait accompli to additionally sell weapons worth 14 billion US dollars to Taiwan.

Herein lies the reason why peace and stability have not been restored in the Taiwan Strait for decades.

Recently, the U.S. proclaimed the first island chain including Taiwan as the forefront for suppressing China. It seeks to deploy the latest missiles on an island of Japan closest to Taiwan and “internationalize” the Taiwan issue by making its warships and aircraft pass through the Taiwan Strait under the signboard of “freedom of navigation”.

This proves once again that “peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait” touted by the U.S. is, in essence, “support for Taiwan’s power-based independence” and that the “one-China” policy advocated by it is nothing but the one for “perpetuating the division of China by force”.

The Taiwan issue is an internal affair of China, so how to settle it is entirely the affair of the Chinese people, and no outside forces have the right to interfere in it.

Obviously, the U.S. did up the wrong button on the Taiwan issue and has taken again a dangerous course whose consequences are difficult to imagine.

Some American fighters to be deployed in Taiwan may be a comfort to the separatists for a while, but it cannot bridge the striking gap between the both sides in terms of capability.

No matter what method the Taiwanese separatists employ and what support the U.S. renders to Taiwan, it can neither deny the fact that Taiwan is a part of China nor influence the basic recognition of the international community that adheres to the principle of “one China”.

The U.S. should think twice whether it is ready to stand in frontal confrontation with the powerful national power of the People’s Republic of China for the security of Taiwan and whether it can cope with its consequences. If it is worried about the consequences, it had better think and act rationally.

Justice is not afraid of confrontation with injustice.

No one should question the ability and will of the People’s Republic of China to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity and core interests.

China’s effort to retake Taiwan is an indispensable and just sacred cause for making abnormalities normality, making injustice justice and making instability stability. It is an irrefutable law-governed historical process that the island of Taiwan becomes a part of China again.

The instability of the Taiwan Strait precisely means the crisis of the United States. Taiwan’s return to China is a matter of time. -0-

“Archaeopterix Coreanica”

Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) – “Archaeopterix coreanica”, registered as a natural monument, is on display at the Natural History Museum of Kim Il Sung University.

It was discovered in Paektho-dong, Sinuiju City, North Phyongan Province, the DPRK on March 10, 1989.

President Kim Il Sung was told that it is a progenitor bird fossil discovered in the stratum dating back about 150 million years. He named it “Korean archaeopteryx” and said that the excavation of the fossil shows that our country is the cradle of birds.

The fossil is composed of a skull, pterygoid, neck bone and feathers. The pterygoid has clear hook-shaped talons.

The Korean archaeopteryx with the most primitive shape of a bird clearly proves that the birds originated from the reptiles.

The age of the Korean archaeopteryx was most suitable for the birth and development of life. The fossil is of great significance in the study of biodiversity and ecological environment as it was unearthed with fossil fish, insects, pterodactyls and plants, etc. -0-

a couple snippets from the interview. the first snippet is about Tom Morelloa doing some concert to promote voting in the midterms. the second snippet is him saying that he didn’t vote for Kamala because of her complicity in Gaza genocide, he doesn’t use the word genocide.

Is there an argument that people’s focus on Ed Sheeran is indeed a distraction from what they should be focusing on?

Yeah, 100 percent. It’s all right to shame him in this moment because he deserves the shame, but not the focus. The focus is your and my tax dollars are going to commit horrific war crimes in the Middle East, and that, I believe, should be the focus and what we should be doing our best to stop in its tracks.

It’s a clickbait, it’s salacious, it’s, “Oh my gosh, poor Ed Sheeran.” First of all, has Ed Sheeran never seen a Macklemore performance before in the last three years? He certainly should’ve known what he was getting into.

The one thing that’s sort of adjacent is, this is a time where speech is being vilified and is a crime, where the truth is a crime, where skin color is a crime, where immigrant status is a crime, where gender is a crime, where sexual orientation is a crime. And it’s my belief that the true crime is the rise of authoritarianism, and the true crime is the erosion of freedoms, and the true crime is an impending environmental disaster. And so my hope at each one of my shows, I deputize the audience as anti-fascist crime fighters, and that’s really the way that I think you have to look at the world right now. Like, what are the real crimes that are happening, and what is it that you and I can do to stop it?

Now that I’ve gotten you fired up — your Power to the People Festival. What is its most essential purpose?

It is not PR or hyperbole to say it is a festival of peace, love, justice, and music. In a time where war is celebrated, this is a festival of peace. In a time where hatred and division are rife, this is a festival of love. In a time where injustice is the norm, this is a festival celebrating fighting for justice. In a time where there’s a lot of shitty music, there’s gonna be a lot of great music on this stage, so we’re going for four for four.

How much were the midterms on your mind when you scheduled this?

As my dear departed mom, Mary Morello, who passed away at 102 years old, was a very political person, said, “You’ve got to fight the fascists every which way you can.” One of those ways is at the ballot box. It’s not the only way, and you should not just think that because you’ve done that. Voting is a piece on the chessboard, and that you try to create an environment where in between the voting you can fight for a more just, a more peaceful, a more equal world.

And so, is the festival three weeks before the midterms? Yeah. Does the money from the festival go to voting rights organizations? Yeah, it does, but the festival is about something much bigger than that. It’s about what kind of world do you really wanna live in, and should we fight for that world, or should we settle for the one that’s being spoon-fed for us by the oligarchs?

Returning as promised to the electoralism issue — there are some on the left who tend to argue it doesn’t matter, don’t bother voting, both sides are the same. So what would you say to someone on the left who says, “Listen, man, I listen to Rage Against the Machine, and I know everyone’s the same. It’s about tearing down the power structure. Doesn’t matter who you vote for. I’m not voting”?

On the one hand, I think that rebellion is self-care, in a way, but I answered that already. Mary Morello was 100 percent right. You have to stop the fascists every which way you can. First of all, a lot of people who I greatly respect and admire the sacrifice they’ve made to try to get people with my color skin to be able to vote in this country, and have died, been lynched for it, they’ve been shot in the back for it, and it’s very disrespectful to their memory to do that.

But that in and of itself is not going to change the levers of power in a significant way. It’s not. It’s not. You should do it. But it would be like, okay, great, you vote, and on the next day you start working. You start working harder for the world you really want without compromise and without apology. And not just putting in the hands of whatever corporate Democrat you choke down your vote for in that particular election, that it’s your job to make the world the way that you think it could be to help those that are the most in need and to hold those accountable who are most guilty.

Do you feel that people on the left should have voted for Kamala Harris?

I’m crystal clear that people’s conscience cannot allow them to do something that they fundamentally believe is wrong. I was the scheduling secretary for United States Senator Alan Cranston. I saw how the corporate Democrat sausage is made. It is worse than you think. And there is a reason, there is a righteous fury at the corporate controlled, money controlled electoral system we have that is absolutely legitimate, and people cannot choke down — I understand it — voting for a candidate that’s responsible for what happened in Gaza, and they just can’t do it, and I’m not gonna blame them for that.

But I think that putting it on them is the most cowardly thing. Put it on the fucking Democratic Party. First of all, I don’t believe it’s their responsibility and they’re never gonna necessarily never do the right thing, but I think it’s all of our responsibility to co-create the world that we want and not point fingers at people that were just like, “Well, you know, my conscience didn’t allow me to do that, so it’s your fault.” I will not co-sign that.

Did you vote for Kamala?

I certainly did not.

You did not?

Did not. I couldn’t do it.

I didn’t realize that.

V for Vendetta — that one inch of who you are belongs to you, and they can’t have it. Now, I live in a state where it may not have moved the meter, but I just couldn’t do it. Couldn’t do it.

When’s the last time that you didn’t vote for the Democratic candidate?

Can’t remember the last time I did.

Wow, okay. I thought you were softening a little bit.

Can’t remember the last time I did.

Strategic Missile Launching Drill Conducted in Eastern Region of DPRK

Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) – At dawn of October 3, a drill was staged to launch an intermediate-range strategic missile from an eastern region of the DPRK toward the East Sea of Korea.

The drill was conducted as part of the efforts to train the missile soldiers operating the hypersonic strategic weapon system in handling their equipment and evaluate the reliability, efficiency and mobility of the DPRK’s war deterrent.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, oversaw the launching drill on the spot.

Among the spectators were Kim Jong Sik, first vice department director of the C.C., WPK, and Jang Chang Ha, general director of the Missile Administration of the DPRK.

Noting that it is a very important measure for ensuring national security and a responsible action of our army to build up the powerful and reliable nuclear deterrent through sustained verification of major components of the war deterrent, improvement of their performance and mastery of the capabilities for their successful operation and to show the counterattack means of our army in constant mobilization posture, Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

"Through today’s launching drill, the strategic missile soldiers have fully demonstrated their professional qualifications and counterattack posture, clearly showing that they are very good at operating their major offensive system and they are always available for mobilization. They also added confidence to our deterrent.

I highly appreciate commanding officers and soldiers of the missile unit who participated in the drill.

We must continue our responsible efforts nonstop to constantly and repeatedly make the enemy recognize the reliability and fatality of our strategic offensive means.

This is a form of exercising deterrent.

As always expressed clearly, such activities on our part are definitely aimed at more rapidly developing the country’s nuclear war deterrent.

This is indispensable for protecting national security and stability in today’s geopolitical environment. There will be no change in such view and line of ours.

We must deter various threats by dint of powerful deterrent and ensure a safe environment for the building and activities of our state."

The missile used in the drill was launched towards the northeast direction and hit the target point 1 000 km away from the East Sea of Korea at 43°36’ 28.04" latitude and 138°00’ 47.02" longitude.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed expectation and belief that all the missile forces would remain faithful to their missions of defending the sovereignty and security of the Republic in a responsible combat posture. -0-

Kim Yo Jong, Department Director of C.C., WPK, on Strategic Weapon Launching Drill

Pyongyang, October 3 (KCNA) – At dawn of this morning, a drill of firing a strategic weapon toward the East Sea of Korea was conducted.

An intermediate-range strategic missile was used for the drill.

The head of state personally oversaw the drill of a firepower sub-unit undertaking an exclusive special mission.

The joint chiefs of staff of the ROK, which tracked our drill, announced that the missile flew more than 700 km, while the Japan defence ministry termed the range 680 km.

They are interesting numbers.

We have already witnessed similar announcements four times and, finally, we came to the conclusion that the superiority of the special flight mode applied to the missiles in our possession has been verified in practice.

Of course, we should neither believe the enemy’s tracking results nor satisfy ourselves of them, but such figures help take a look at the limitations of the enemy’s tracking capability and the special features of our missiles.

Whenever we applied the wave-like trajectory mode to missiles, the enemy failed to track the targets from their first skip points.

Extension of the trajectory at the downward stage gives the numbers quite similar to the numbers of the ranges announced by the enemy.

The enemy always made such a lame excuse that there is a limit to the detection capability because of the curvature of the earth’s surface, but in fact this just serves as a proof of our perfect missile capability and the most scientific “evaluation index” confirming the power and reliability of our weapon system.

They should acknowledge the speed of the missile.

And they would be well advised to recollect our announcements that it is capable of changing its flight orbit at a low altitude and AI was introduced into it.

In other words, this means that there is no way to avoid this attack.

Representatives of the Missile Administration reported to the head of state that it is possible to set at least four flight orbit modes according to a purpose and target with the technology recently introduced.

The head of state expressed the belief that any country in the world could not have access to such technology for at least several years. -0-

Eminem is no stranger to controversy throughout his career, whether it’s for his lyricism or his political views. In the latter category, his upcoming feature on “7 Sins” from the new Kid Rock album Halfway To Jesus (dropping October 17) has divided fans who remember his previous condemnations of Donald Trump. On the other hand, Kid Rock is an ardent MAGA supporter with other right-wing inclinations. But he’s also a longtime friend of Slim Shady, and he reportedly addressed this collaboration.

Complex reportedly confirmed via a representative from Em’s camp that the team-up is actually real and official, as many Internet users questioned its veracity upon its announcement. Also, the publication reportedly obtained an excerpt from Halfway To Jesus’ foreword that goes into the mindset behind the link-up.

“I’m proud of the guests who joined me, especially my old friend Eminem,” Kid Rock reportedly expressed. “His verse speaks to something we’ve talked about and that really needs to be heard: we differ politically and on other things, but we’ve stayed friends through it all. We hope that sets an example for people who’ve lost friends or stopped talking to family because they think differently.”

Previously, Eminem has criticized Donald Trump often, even showing up to a Kamala Harris rally in Detroit in 2024. He had told Trump supporters to stop being fans of him in the past, later empathizing with them being fooled by his promises. However, the Detroit MC shares that Motor City connection with Kid Rock. They have various collaborations and moments of camaraderie over the past four decades.

Most recently, Marshall Mathers had tweeted that “one thing” they can agree on is their love for the Detroit Lions. The rapper, rock, country, and now Christian rock artist had admitted they disagree politically. But he still showed Em love for expressing his beliefs.

It seems like fans who want more context for all of this will have to wait for Halfway To Jesus’ release on October 17. Many fans expressed outrage or less indignant criticism over the move. Regardless of what they thematically explore on their collaboration “7 Sins,” the damage is already done for lots of listeners.

On the first of his two-night run at Gillette Stadium on Friday, Zach Bryan hit the stage wearing a shirt that read “Free Palestine.” The singer-songwriter appeared to be sending a message to stadium and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft after he banned Macklemore from the venue following the Seattle rapper’s comments while touring with Ed Sheeran.

Reps for Bryan and Gillette stadium did not immediately return a request for comment.

Press Statement of Kim Yo Jong, Department Director of C.C., WPK

Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) – Kim Yo Jong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, issued the following press statement on Friday:

The enemy remains a foe.

This is a crucial conclusion we have reached again through another farce created by Seoul.

Seoul clearly revealed its sinister intention to plunge the situation in the Korean peninsula again into a critical state for its selfish purpose, since it hastily made a groundless conclusion that the recent case of mine explosion in the border area was due to someone’s “covert and deliberate mine-laying” and announced what is called a poor “official-stand statement”.

They even called for an “apology”. It is really despicable.

It is necessary to think reasonably.

Why do they suppose that we would have done so to go with them?

It is needed to know exactly about the true intention of why we are fortifying the border line.

Explaining in a simple and clear way, this is aimed at shutting down the door forever so that we will have nothing to do with the ROK and even wild animals can not come and go.

To be frank, we shudder even at the thought of the ROK tribes who would describe even a flock of birds in the air as “drones from the north”.

So, it is our strongest desire to cut off the relationship forever with those tribes that make troubles.

We do not allow the slightest space or room for us to go with the ROK.

Committing the suspicious accident beyond common sense by themselves, they came to be put in a dilemma. After all, it seems they are resorting again to their habitual act of finding fault with other.

Indeed, it’s boring, awful and disgusting.

We’re witnessing another really absurd thing once again.

Seoul should no longer play cheap tricks and stop at once its nonsense to tarnish the image of our state.

The word “provocation” the ROK tribes use so often against us is their most favorite one. We wonder if they know the exact meaning of the word.

From a commonsense point of view, the word “provocation” can be used for any act of shifting one’s blame onto others, and such acts should be termed “provocation” as drone provocations made by the Yoon Suk Yeol regime and the present Seoul authority against the DPRK.

Another great irony is that the inferiors like the small fry were busy with finding fault with others by releasing the results of the investigation and official stand statement, whereas the president was present at a commemorative ceremony and expressed the “will” to take practical and consistent measures to defuse military tension.

It’s the climax of the farce that everyone should watch.

It seems that Part 2 of the farce started.

He seems as if he is going to play a righteous leading character after making the situation complicated.

We wonder who are the leading actor and the supernumerary, but we want him to be a popular “righteous actor”.

Those who wrote the playbook for the farce, directed it and played the actors deserve the precious “citation”. -0-

Press Statement of Kim Yo Jong, Department Director of C.C., WPK

Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) – Kim Yo Jong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, issued the following press statement titled “Ringleaders of provocation should be prepared for paying price for the farce of their own making” on Sept. 29:

Recently, the ROK military gangsters committed another provocation against the DPRK, announcing the “investigation results” in connection with the incident of mine explosion that occurred in the southern border area.

It is too low and dirty as befitting the tribes of the ROK.

Of course, such a farce is by no means a new.

When the mine explosion in question occurred on September 21, we had already anticipated the scenario of Seoul and seen through the true intention of the conspiratorial farce being staged by the ROK military gangsters.

In conclusion, the incident is a clear farce reminiscent of the “wooden-box mine incident” which disturbed the world more than ten years ago, in consideration of the time and method of provocation.

At that time the puppet forces forcibly linked the “mine explosion incident” that occurred on the western border with the DPRK and continuously escalated the tension under the pretext of it.

What should not be overlooked is the fact that the armed gangsters of the ROK are now cooking up the groundless results and “justifying their conduct” for political and military provocation against the DPRK, openly talking about “reasonable and corresponding enforcement of measures”.

How can we sit and watch their despicable act of rashly doubting anyone after exploding a mine of doubtful provenance and talking about the breach of the Armistice Agreement.

Where can we find else such an absurd, malicious and gangster-like attitude?

The rulers of Seoul including those of the “People Power Party” have already unanimously said that the withdrawn loudspeaker against the DPRK should be set up in keeping with the futile bravery of the new minister of Defense.

It is absurd that they made a conclusion about the origin of the said mine exploded in the barren land which they had never set foot for more than a half century.

It is the height of impudence that the tribes of the ROK are trying to fabricate “material evidence” for proving it after shifting the blame for the incident onto the other.

We are closely watching why the ROK military rogues need the “mine incident” at this time in connection with their extremely scandalous acts which have been witnessed repeatedly in the southern border area in recent days.

The enemies’ provocative acts near the southern border area are going beyond the limit with each passing day.

As the world knows, our army has been building the barriers in the southern border area as part of the work of strengthening the border two years ago, and this is only a thorough exercise of sovereignty unrelated with any military purpose.

However, the ROK military warmongers are seriously threatening the personal safety of our soldiers through warning broadcasting and warning shots, teasing our personnel mobilized for building the border barriers about the groundless “crossing of the border”.

Especially from August, the enemy has been engaged in warning broadcasting and warning shots every day.

The “crossing the border” of our soldiers touted by the ROK military is a deliberate and planned strained assertion to shift the responsibility for escalating tension on to the DPRK.

Clearly speaking, our soldiers have never crossed the border.

This is a clear cavil and a provocation.

The ROK military should think first of all about what the world will say about its inability to distinguish its own land and other’s land, failing to properly distinguish the boundary which can be confirmed by the naked eye.

We will never remain a passive onlooker to the hostile acts causing great concern in the border area.

When a single bullet is hit on our land, they must be prepared for a lot.

If the ROK military gangsters fire at our soldiers carrying on the permanent project for the southern border, not warning shots, our border units will take immediate and merciless retaliate attack.

The counteraction principles against them have already been issued to the border defence units and the army of the DPRK decided to take measures to increase the tactical counterattack means in the direction of the demilitarized zone of the 21st Infantry Division of the 3rd Corps of the ROK army where the provocations are frequent in recent days.

Explicitly speaking once again, it is clear that if the frequency of malicious accusation and provocation against us in the border region are frequent and lead to an encroachment on our actual territory and military sovereignty, the rogue group will have to face a situation that has not yet been experienced.

I seriously warn you that it would be a good idea to weigh the relative advantages with reasonable thinking.

If you are going to display “bravery” with an unpopular barbarous courage, you will only face a miserable and catastrophic position.

The dramatic culmination of the farce of Seoul will never be fun and the responsibility for all consequences will be entirely for the party to the provocation. -0-

Traditional Food of Korean Nation

Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) – On the day of Chusok (Harvest Moon Day), a folk holiday of Koreans, they prepared various dishes.

Among them are Songphyon (a half-moon-shaped rice cake stuffed with beans and flavored with pine needles).

On all other folk holidays, Koreans enjoy this dish. Such a rice cake is more delicious when it is made from new rice on the day of Chusok. The rice cake prepared on the day is called Chusok Songphyon.

Every region of the country makes unique Songphyon of various shapes and sizes.

In Kangwon Province, they make such a cake from potato farina and groundnuts.

Chusok falls on the 25th of September (the 15th day of the eighth lunar month) this year. -0-

Press Statement of DPRK Foreign Minister

Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) – Choe Son Hui, foreign minister of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, on Thursday released the following press statement “The DPRK remains unchanged in its will to keep nuclear weapons forever”:

The U.S., Japan and the ROK fully expressed their anachronistic and confrontational nature once again to remain invariably hostile to the DPRK by raising the unrealistic “denuclearization” target.

At the tripartite talks held on the sideline of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, the diplomatic authorities of the U.S., Japan and the ROK made public a “joint statement”, in which they reconfirmed the firm will to “denuclearize” someone according to the “resolution” of the UN Security Council.

This proved once again that no matter how the U.S. and its allies change their expressions and let loose a string of rhetoric, they do not give up a daydream about “denuclearization” and can never drop it.

It is not new that the “denuclearization” issue was discussed at the meeting of the U.S., Japan and the ROK which have adopted antagonism toward the DPRK as their state policies, and on the contrary, it would have been surprised and questionable if there had been no mention about it.

As the foreign minister of the DPRK, I reaffirm and reconfirm in the strongest tone of voice the steadfast will of our state to keep nuclear weapons through all ages, which is irreversible in any case and will remain unchanged forever.

The strong-arm policy against the DPRK came to failure, and any state or force can never compel us to withdraw from defending the national sovereignty and the core interests.

The coexistence of confrontation and dialogue may be workable for anyone, but they can never be considerable one for the DPRK.

Steadfast is our appreciation and stand that nuclear weapons are the core component of national sovereignty and the most reliable guarantee for defending sovereign rights that no one can provoke. And the more loudly the U.S. and its allies may cry out for “denuclearization”, the more it will only prove the validity of our state’s just access to nuclear weapons and give a justification for strengthening them and harden its stand against the U.S. and the enemies.

To deny the reality is to give up the future.

There is no change in the fact that the DPRK’s position as a nuclear weapons state will be everlasting as inviolable one in disregard of the hostile forces’ rhetorical assertion, and it is inevitable to reorganize and fix the geopolitical structure centered on the DPRK with nukes. -0-

Spokesman for DPRK Foreign Ministry Issues Press Statement

Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) – A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea released the following press statement on September 24:

A “joint statement” accusing the DPRK of its self-defensive nuclear activities was cooked up and released at a recent ministerial meeting of the “Friends of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty” held in New York.

The Foreign Ministry of the DPRK strongly condemns and rejects as a grave political provocation against the DPRK such behavior of the hostile forces who took issue with the DPRK’s legitimate and just exercise of its sovereign rights under the pretext of the promotion of earlier effectuation of the CTBT.

The member states of the “Friends of the CTBT”, which sponsored the recent ministerial meeting, are the allies or satellite countries of the U.S., the chief culprit systematically destroying the international nuclear non-proliferation system. So they have neither qualification nor face to debate the DPRK’s legitimate exercise of its right to self-defence.

It has been 30 years since the conclusion of the CTBT, but it has not yet come into effect. It is entirely because of the U.S. and its vassal forces which have openly committed criminal nuclear proliferation out of their wild ambition to secure their global nuclear hegemony.

The U.S.-led nuclear proliferation, from the sharing of nuclear weapons with NATO in the 1950s and deployment of its nuclear weapons abroad to the emergence of the nuclear submarine alliance AUKUS and the transfer of nuclear submarine technology to the ROK, has been recorded as grave threats to international peace and security.

In particular, remilitarization of Japan revealing its ill-intended scheme to arm itself with nuclear weapons through the modification of the Three Non-Nuclear Principles and the retrogressive constitutional amendments, oblivious of the lesson from its defeat in the Second World War, constitutes an actual security challenge to be strictly watched and deterred by the international community.

The criminal acts of the countries failing to honour their nuclear-disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation duty are being connived at, but a sovereign state’s legitimate exercise of its right to self-defence is being faulted. As such abnormal situation lingers, the international nuclear disarmament system and the nuclear non-proliferation system are being shaken to their roots.

Such stereotyped racket of some dishonest forces has no impact on the DPRK’s position as a nuclear weapons state.

The DPRK will never tolerate any attempts to deny its national sovereignty and constitutional position but make positive contributions to the international efforts for ensuring peace of the Korean peninsula and the rest of the world as a responsible nuclear weapons state. -0-

( I might update this list later if I missed any URLs or it changes. I mostly visit KCNA and Rodong Sinmun but some of the other URLs also have very interesting pages. )

How do I post in this comm?

  1. Visit a website that uses the .kp TLD.
  2. Find a webpage that you think is interesting.
  3. (important) Post the .kp URL of the webpage in this comm. (remember to follow hexbear Code of Conduct)
  4. (optional) Include a screenshot, copy/paste quote, or archive url of the thing that you find interesting.

What if I found something interesting about DPRK on western media or social media (twitter, reddit, etc)?

There is a likelihood that content related to DPRK originated from a .kp website.

To find the .kp page associated with the content, you first have to approximate the date of the content. If you read an article about DPRK in western media, then use the date given by the article. If you have an image, try to do a reverse image search of the image and then use the date of the earliest oldest webpage.

Once you have an approximate date of the content, you can look at archive.org snapshots of KCNA and Rodong Sinmun for that date to find the article associated with the content. Replace YYYYMMDD with the year/month/day of the date of the content to find an article. August 09, 2026 would be 20260809.

https://web.archive.org/web/YYYYMMDD/http://kcna.kp/en

https://web.archive.org/web/YYYYMMDD/http://kcna.kp/kp

https://web.archive.org/web/YYYYMMDD/http://www.rodong.rep.kp/en/

https://web.archive.org/web/YYYYMMDD/http://www.rodong.rep.kp/ko/

For KCNA, you have to click on the camera button to view images on the article. I think Rodong Sinmun embeds the image into the page.

What if I don’t have a .kp url?

If you don’t have a .kp url, then you can’t make a post on this comm. If you want to make a post on this comm, you have to find a .kp url. The intention of this rule is to verify that the content originated from DPRK. There are other comms that you can post in.

Am I allowed to make posts that criticize or disagree with web pages hosted in DPRK?

Yes, but please be respectful, keep an open mind, and follow hexbear’s Code of Conduct, ie do not be a reactionary.

!pyongyang@hexbear.net is comm for posting links to websites hosted in DPRK aka Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, known as North Korea in the West. Pyongyang is the capital city of DPRK. The purpose of the comm is to try observe the DPRK perspective.

DPRK is heavily sanctioned and censored by the West. There is a lot of misinformation spread about DPRK, sometimes positive, sometimes negative. An example of positive misinformation would be all the twitter accounts making up fake Kim Jong Un quotes. Negative misinformation would be like all of the articles posted by RadioFreeAsia, a US-funded propaganda site.

There are websites hosted in DPRK that are accessible internationally. DPRK owns the .kp TLD. Every website that ends with .kp is hosted in DPRK. Linking directly to websites hosted in DPRK could demystify the western perspective of DPRK.

some info about the .kp TLD. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.kp

The concept of the comm is simple. Visit a DPRK website, find something interesting to you, post the link to the page in this comm. Optionally screenshot the page and/or archive it with an archive website.

To combat western narratives, all posts on the comm should contain a link to a .kp website or archive of a .kp website, either in the URL field or the Post body field. Users would be welcome to comment their own opinions, but posts should be based on DPRK websites.

Here is a current list of websites hosted in DPRK. https://archive.is/RT91h

These webpages tend to post new stuff daily, so the comm should never run out of content. The DPRK website list has a broad range categories. There’s a recipe website, an architecture website, an ebook website with juche theory books, an animation website with DPRK animated videos, and more.

The two news sites in DPRK that I read are KCNA and Rodong Sinmun. They have the tendency to post new articles daily at 6 PM eastern time. The articles tend to be deleted after 1 year time, so it is good to archive the page if you find something interesting.

Also, the korean language website of the websites sometimes have additional pages not available in the english version. You might have to use the browser translate function.

Additionally, DPRK has shown rapid development over the past couple years. On June 18 2024, DPRK signed a trade agreement with Russia, which I believe gave DPRK expanded access to new technologies.

Hexbear has a China comm, so why not have a DPRK comm?

here’s a current list of DPRK websites. https://archive.is/RT91h

popular culture

For observing and discussion of cultural phenomenon, entertainment, celebrities, internet culture, zeitgeist, etc.

Every newspaper has a culture section. The news comm doesn’t like culture/entertainment articles. The chapo comm doesn’t like stuff outside of the chapo subculture. People want the gossip comm to be closed. The slop comm is meant for screenshots of stupid internet posts.

Pop culture influences the way that people feel, think, and live their lives.

Pop culture would attract people to the hexbear instance.
