Mostly on my Lemmygrad and Hexbear accounts. But still like Lemmy.ml and the people on here. Not a liberal, conservative, or a fucking fascist! The masses need to wake up and see how much we have been and continue to be lied to by those that want us to stay dumb and hating each other!

  • “If there are gonna be killer robots, I’d rather they be our killer robots.”

I kind of think that he and the others will be making that Surprised Pikachu face when “our killer robots” see everyone as targets. Which would be great to see them have that realization right before the robots merc them. Sadly it would already be too late for all of us.

We keep seeing more of those “broke containment” reports while the stakes are comparably much lower. Which are very real reasons that maybe the hyper version of “move fast, break things” with regards to AI shouldn’t be how things are treated. Shit needs to slow down dramatically, and efforts to actually deal with containment should be a major focus with the stuff already existing. Having lots of plans with redundancies ready to stop shit if anything happens.

Other focus should be optimizing instead of the sprinting into just adding more and more hardware power (and regular energy power). Really need AI companies stop acting like game companies that can’t be bothered to get everything out of hardware without just defaulting to assuming that parts should constantly be upgraded. But I guess that is a different problem than the original issue.

  • For all the very real bad things AI is/can be used for. I really would love to see more uses like this. So long as the code generated is made to be easily auditable (clear comments and traceable code) by folks that know how to do it for other projects that have been trying to free as many left to rot devices. Obviously a lot of slop stuff will make things hard for finding the gems, and will be important to treat all things as “too good to be true” until verified.

With the way that companies lock the shit out of modern devices with planned obsolescence. It would be great to repurpose those devices with as much of the hardware being accessible, unlike the current issues with major parts not working (not from lack of trying/caring to be clear). The breakthroughs that humans are able to figure out will still be more impressive, but there is a difference between folks like them clearly stating what parts they used tools to help with (if used at all) vs the no effort vibe-coder crowd. Will be also great if they are able to get results with small focused locally hosted AI instead of everything being on those “bubble” data centers.
