I wish there was someone who could explain the situation between Eritrea and Ethiopia.

We have the neoliberal left around the world already making the social welfare worse. Did you see everybody turning ML or turning to fascism? Politics is complex, making people’s lives worse does not lead automatically to revolution.

Would the masses follow their revolutionary party if they were directly responsible for the worsening of their material conditions? Or would they instead turn to the fascists?

It’s been like this since 2015, and it’s getting worse.

It’s the reflex of the history taught at schools. Indigenous are treated either as barbarous cannibals and degenerates or as innocent child-like savages. One narrative justifies the genocide and enslavement of the natives, the other encourages the tutelage of Jesuits and Christian missions to indoctrinate people into the European culture and values. Almost no proper historiography is taught in schools to teach the complex relationships between different and same tribes.

Although there’s a lot of racism and prejudice against African descendants, Brazil’s erasure of indigenous culture is far more advanced than in other regions in South America. Even today the prejudice against indigenous communities is simply horrendous.

Although a lot of people are blaming evangelicals, I came to stress here that Lula made a very shitty government, running on the program of Brazilian financial sector. After four years of austerity measures, and ruining opportunities to approve popular laws like the end of the 6x1 work schedule, it’s no surprise that Lula’s government is weak.
