@britishcolumbia will you stay up…
…and watch the clocks NOT change tonight at 2am for the first time in a long time?
(And Alberta, Manitoba too) #britishcolumbia #DST
Hello, my name’s Allen. I’m here to share my various train photos, news, and advocacy.
Focused mainly on British Columbia, Ontario and the PNW, sometimes I will post a couple other adventures from where I’ve gone!
My original photos may be used under the terms of the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. Feel free to send a message for other uses or any questions. I can speak and write terrible-quality French (français) and mediocre Japanese (日本語).
@GuyDudeman
We’re on permanent DST as of right now, so Vancouver BC is now 2 hours behind most of Ontario/Québec and the US east coast, whereas Seattle and Los Angeles are still 3 hrs behind as usual.

Update: I’ve tried loops, but I keep running into upload issues that I can’t post even a 5 second train video. Will try Peertube next month. @fediverse
Did you know Via Rail has a fleet of British Rail Gauge train cars?
They obtained them from a failed sleeper service through the Chunnel in the 90s. I rode with them on the Montréal to Halifax rail service called The Ocean. Part of a big rail journey I took this summer across eastern Canada and Europe.
Loops vs. PeerTube for video host
Hey friends, I’m thinking of starting up an ActivityPub compatible server to host and share my own train videos with the Fediverse, and wondering: Of the two video-oriented softwares, which would be a better fit for my use case and easier to work with? The videos would be between 15 seconds and 10 minutes long.
Comparisons, pros and cons, and your experiences working with either would be appreciated. Thanks. @fediverse
