Sure, sure.
But for a week plus of meals its a lot cheaper. I’d usally bring like one fancy backpacker meal for a 5 day stretch if they had any good ones in town. NO MOUNTAIN HOUSE.
Plus you can put other stuff in there. Miso soup & ramen, Asian style. Tvp, taco seasoning, some chips if you pass a gas station on a road walk, taco night. Gotta have some variety.
Spoon but I also turned it inside out to lick it clean. More sanitary that way for the next night
Thru hikers are fine with this. Though I used a ziploc so I could reuse the bag multiple times. Add some wild garlic too.
2 bears on a hike. Black bears so all i really saw was bear butts running away.
Snakes are scarier. Almost stepped on a greenhead rattler that let me know he was there at the last second. The one copperhead I saw was the scariest, right on the trail in a patch of sun and blended in perfectly. The guy ahead of me.pointed him out or I wouldve stepped on him.
Ramen bombs are the best!
