I said the bar was very low. When it comes to Ai use I am very clear with everyone where I stand. I’m not out here throwing molotov cocktails at data centres but I’m also not expecting it of anyone else, either. Saying “no” to forced Ai use is not “charging the bastille” and if you’re equating it to that then you can maybe see what I’m talking about.

It really is, though. Ai is not just “a piece of software”, and it’s not even helpful. People can’t stand up against fucking anything these days.
Just don’t use it, and say that you’re doing your job just fine without it. Get your coworkers involved. We have weekends because people fought and died for them and now we can’t even say “no” to vague commands to use Ai? C’mon, there’s gotta be a spine in there somewhere, right?

12 daysThat’s not his responsibility, and no one would blame him for that. Make Kraft pay for it, or at least make sure everyone knows why the tour had to be cancelled. “Creating jobs” is a bogus used to hold the working class hostage.

14 daysThere isn’t really any nuance, here. Ed Sheeran is absolutely zero danger, here, it’s not like he’s deep in poverty and has to weigh the morality of being a Walmart security guard against feeding his family. Bro just has to go “you are mad about someone speaking out against obvious genocide and I will not be attaching my name to yours.”
He literally just has to go “ok, fuck you then” and go home. Everyone else did, he’s just a huge loser.
As a Canadian…I don’t want to be compared to the US anymore. It’s been our excuse to get worse and worse for decades and I’m tired of it.
Also, I’m liking CachyOS. Yes it’s better than Windows(anything is), but I’m also making an effort to not say things shouldn’t be done just because I’m happier than I was.

I got fired from my last job because I didn’t tell the seniors they were special boys. I very politely told an engineer he had to update his building code and when I eventually had to tell him that I couldn’t work on his project if he wasn’t going to follow the current legal standards it was me who got spoken to about “insubordination”.
The only reason you “can’t” say no is because everyone together believes they can’t and actively, or even simply passively, discourages others from doing it. The only true power that these people have is what is given to them, they aren’t wizards.
