Yeah the applebeees-tier really has a lot of fuckin nerve these days. Especially since it’s not like they’re paying their waitstaff much (or any?) more than they did in the late 90s.

Have you ever tried not to have a mental illness? It’s kind of the same deal. Addiction is an illness, not a failure of willpower. Resentment is understandable I guess, it truly is fatiguing to try and help someone who isn’t ready. But I really don’t think “it’s a chosen path”.
I did kind of the same thing but just a new Acura. I did love the car, but toward the end of the lease it felt like I was renting an AirBnB, making sure nothing fucked it up right at the end and making sure I kept it under the mileage agreement.
Remember when you could go to a bowling alley or a skating rink and feel like (or know for sure) that you could absolutely buy drugs there? Or maybe just find some in the carpet?
