The age verification shit is so bad that even adults will be locked out of using shit if you can’t try again.

The whole policy is both stupid and poorly implemented. The government should have supplied us with a way to verify our age through official means, and a way for the company to confirm it without us giving a hundred different third parties our facial scan or government ID. We already have the myID app which is used to verify our identity for government services. But no, we’d rather set up honey pots for data breaches. Many of which have already happened.

I tried to browse a sale on epic Games last week and ran into age verification just trying to look at games in the store. I guess ignoring the fact that I already have R18 games installed. Tried to upload ID and it kept saying there was an issue. No explanation or anything I can do to fix. I’m 32 for fuck sake.

Tried to contact support and ended up with a fucking llm which told me I needed to clear my cache and restart my computer. Had the nerve to say “you don’t need to wait for a support member to reply” when I told it to connect me to a human. After swearing at it, it finally put through an email for me. The reply was in broken English with zero punctuation or grammar. Didn’t bother replying and just decided that was the last time I touch epic games.

But regardless, VPNs still work to get around it with minimal trouble for me. It’s just dumb all around.

Things started out free and ad free. Google for example started ad free and proudly started that fact. Now it’s become a core strategy for them. Release a new product, get it on everyone’s devices then load it up with ads.

I had a nice air filter, was able to buy replacements one whole time before they stopped making the ones that fit in favour of slightly different shaped ones for the new model of fan. Don’t remember what brand at this point.

Had airline points that were expiring and spent them on what would have been two $850 Dyson air purifiers just to use them up, the shop was full of junk. (1700 for two fans?!?). The replacement purifiers were $150 each so I just used a PC blower to dust them. Eventually both were bricked by the software and wouldn’t run despite the screen turning on because it displayed an exclamation point 🤷‍♂️. They wanted $250 per fan to fix them because they were both a month out of warranty, which feels a little too on the nose. Never touching a Dyson product again.

Replaced them with Kmart air filters, three of them were cheaper than the repair cost of one of the Dyson fucks. Was able to replace the filters once and they’ve never been in stock in store or online again for over a year now.

Just make your own. It’s just a fan that pulls through a filter.

I’ve been seeing ads made by ai and they’re even worse. Just saw one on YouTube for glasses “that change colour with just the touch of a finger!” And had ai video of smiling people at the beach tapping their lenses to change the glass colour multiple times, like the glass itself has rgb. Best part is, the fake product didn’t even work consistently in the ai video and didn’t change colour when they tapped sometimes.

I genuinely don’t understand how an ad that’s so obviously fake is tricking enough people to be worth spending an entire ad budget on.
