  • Just another one in a long line lol. OPM has been breached so many times. There was a huge one in 2015 under Obama when the Chinese government stole the data on basically anyone who had had a background check done on them by the federal government. 22.1 million records, social security numbers, job data, clearance data, address data, their friends’ and families’ data from their SF-86 forms, everything. They also got 5.6 million fingerprint records.

  • It’s kinda funny how many of these cases are just due to shitty policing. In hindsight, it’s really clear what he was up to.

While working in the area of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Betkouski attempted to obtain capsules of some kind in March of 1982. Police were called to a pharmacy and escorted him home, Cooper said. That’s when they discovered he was taking unauthorized material from his lab at the White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico and later found cyanide in his room. Co-workers said Betkouski would often discuss how cyanide could be used in “the perfect crime.”

He also made frequent calls to chemical supply and pharmaceutical companies in Pennsylvania in the weeks before the Tylenol homicides.

  • Luxury has a definition in economics. It’s goods beyond basic needs.

Apple is very very much a luxury. By no means are they a need. Even if you consider a cell phone a need today, there are dozens of other phones out there ranging from a few bucks up to a few thousand dollars.

You can certainly consider them overpriced, sure. That’s an opinion. What’s a fact is that they are very much a luxury, not a necessity.

  • What the fuck are you talking about? It took years to get under control. The entire book is set twenty years after the outbreak began, and there’s still tens of millions of zombies around, just pushed back out of inhabited areas and kept away as they slowly decompose. Pakistan and Iran nuked each other into oblivion. The entire global society basically broke down when it was released that Phalanx (the vaccine being hawked) was a scam. Billions of people died.

It was four years after the outbreak started that the US built up to go on the offensive, another three years before they liberated the contiguous US, and another two years after that that it was declared victory globally. Seven years after the outbreak began.

  • She taunted, beat, and slashed her victim repeatedly for half an hour, carved a pentagram into her chest while still alive, then bashed her skull in with a hunk of asphalt. Then carried around pieces of her skull to school, showing people.

There are plenty of times where a person does something so heinous that they should never be allowed into society again. This is one of those times. I don’t believe in the death penalty, but life in prison is absolutely the right move here.

Also, yes, you absolutely can know that she is still a danger to society. She attempted to murder another inmate while in prison and has attempted escape.
