Interesting concept. It makes sense; at least more sense than I can make with dark matter. But I definitely haven’t studied it enough to be an authority. I look forward to seeing the results of their modeling over the next few years!

In a world where the news is always bad, it’s good to see scientists still learning and trying new things. We need that.

I worked with someone like this. I did the entire setup and migration, while he literally hid and slept in the server room. Then I did the weekend work from the hotel, while he slept in. He took the company van to lunch and didn’t bother to knock on the door and see if I was hungry.

The worst was when I went into the communal bathroom and saw shit on the floor, the toilet seat, the toilet paper, the plastic surrounding the spare paper… But none on the sink. He didn’t wash his hands. No one fessed up so I reviewed the camera footage in the hallway and eliminated anyone not walking near the bathroom. I called him out and said I’m not his mother and I shouldn’t have to clean his literal shit because he’s too lazy. We lost an office manager to his bathroom blow ups before - she quit when she started scrubbing and realized it wasn’t worth it. I was being paid a lot of money to design and implement networks, but now I was scrubbing shit. He cleaned it after that.

But even then he wasn’t fired. He brought beg bugs into the office. He wasn’t fired. Eventually his slacking off cost an upper manager his evening. No one listened to me complain until someone “important” had to deal with it.

Never again!

Some people became aware of the tracking. Some confused Snowden with Julian Assange of WikiLeaks, and assumed he raped a woman and leaked classified data to the Internet. Snowden got trapped in Russia.

No policies changed. Things actually got worse, as you can see with Flock cameras as an example. No one even apologized.

The only part I didn’t like in There Will Be Blood was Paul Dano playing two brothers, but setting it up so you can’t say that the main character isn’t pretending to be the brother that doesn’t exist. Like, they should’ve been more explicit about there being two brothers. That make me question the entire relationship between him and Daniel Day Lewis’ character.

This is confusing. The are more than “white” and “black”. If it’s only white people left, does that mean anyone that’s not of pure European descent is also gone? Is there a fraction that’s allowable? 3/5ths?

We’d be looking at a potential extinction-level event for Homo Sapiens, in any case. It would be hard to come back from that.
