• Poor Disney! If only they had made countless billions of dollars on their assorted IP over the last few years then maybe they wouldn’t be so poor now that they have to layoff their beloved employees that they can no longer afford to pay.

I’m sure a lot of people have been “hit really hard” with the streaming subscriptions they canceled over Disney’s stupid bullshit.

    • Thank you!!! That is exactly what I was coming here to say. Lets take a look at the C-suite bonus and pay structure and see who got ‘HIT’ with what. Greedy fucks.

      • I would like to look into the companies behind headlines like this. Like who owns them and who decides that these “innocent” little turns of phrase that deign corpos as helpless little victims

        • Especially when they otherwise love to scandalize and overplay at every opportunity to drive clicks

New Orleans was hit by hurricane Katrina in 2005. That’s a fair characterization of events.

Disney’s CEO is choosing to layoff. Disney is not the unwitting victim of circumstance.

Disney Employees Hit By Layoffs, A Couple Hundred Workers Cut

    • I’d probably phrase it more like

Disney executes layoffs, over 200 people effected while executives face no consequences for mismanagement

      • What are you talking about? This is great management. Think of the savings! Bonuses all around for the execs!

I mean they need that yacht money, oh and maybe a secret island somewhere.

  • It must be in the style guide: Never use Person + active verb + person when talking about what rich people or cops do.

    Disney has initiated layoffs

    involuntary staff reductions

D’Amaro has overseen multiple rounds of layoffs

  • Yeah but look at the bright side: Paying customers are being served ads now too! LMAO to whoever still pays for that.

  • Today’s cuts are said to impact a couple of hundred employees, largely in areas such as tech and HR, which is a smaller number than the two previous rounds of layoffs earlier this year.

Disney employs around 220-000- 230,000 people. So this is maybe 1% of staff, to put that in perspective.
