        What’s the exaggeration? Maybe I’m jaded by the Internet, but this seems like a completely plausible scenario.

        Without the exaggeration, to me it’s just as likely that the author is being racist and dumb themselves.

          You’re jaded, specifically if you think the author of this comic made it as a serious thing where the whole point is the protagonist goes to a panda express and says no tip because of pearl harbor.

            Yeah… Probably. I think I’ve just seen too many Vietnam vets make a public scene over stupid shit like this. Or the lack of a military discount. Or people not thanking them for their service when they go out wearing the hat.

            It’s probably less of a problem than I think, and just a small minority that stands out because it’s weird.

          If the author was racist and dumb I’m pretty sure he would have slitted-up the counter guy’s eyes and called the place Panda Expless.
