Assuming time, money, living situation, and the law wasn’t a factor. I’d love a skunk. I’d name her Oreo and i’d love her and she’d be my best friend.
Dragon. And anyone who says otherwise isn’t being completely honest with themselves. Everyone wants a dragon.

9 daysCan I have a dog-sized dragon? Smaug would not fit in our living room and our budget can’t manage dozens of sheeps every week.

What about an aboleth or a tarrasque? Either one would be pretty cool.

8 daysThe post doesn’t say anything about feasibility/safety, so unless you can find dragon tamers for hire and a dragon-proof construction company, you’d likely end up dead and/or with an escaped dragon.
Also, it was about any pet in the world, so I guess that requires dragons to exist somewhere, sounds like a gamble on if they do…

You say all that like my safety is a concern. Yeah I want a dragon, yeah I don’t care if it eats me. Either it’s a cool dragon and my best friend or it’s an evil dragon and I get to unleash it upon the world. I’m not seeing a downside.

Dragons are also usually sapient, meaning it can’t be a pet, just a slave.

You’re missing out big time my friend, I don’t want a dragon pet, I want to be the dragon !

I’d have my cat. If the devil came acallin’ I’d sell my soul for me and the lil guy to be immortal. I could spend eternity in his company and it wouldn’t be enough.

9 daysMe too. We’re having to put our little guy to sleep tonight, he’s too ill. They’re pretty sure it’s cancer, but he’s not stable enough for diagnosis let alone treatment. The poor guy’s had basically a soda can’s worth of fluid drained from his chest cavity twice in the last 2 months.

I’m so sorry. I hope you’re okay. I had a cat die suddenly a month ago and its been rough. Please take care of yourself.

8 daysMy wife is hurting worse than me. He got her through the pandemic, and they really bonded. I opened the cat flap this morning and pulled out his food before I remembered he was gone. Been a tough Saturday.
Sorry about your friend, it’s worse when they go suddenly with no warning. Sending hugs.- 8 days
Sounds like you both have a lot of love to give. Hopefully both your hearts heal smoothly. One day at a time.

My sincerest sympathies. You can comfort yourself with the fact that you’re doing the right thing for him by ending his illness and whatever discomfort/pain there may be.
We had to do the same with our little guy last year. He had kidney problems, and we gave him a saline drip twice a day for about a year. He never complained. But at a certain point you have to consider that you’re just prolonging their suffering, as hard as that is to accept.

9 daysThat’s him away now. I’m just happy he wasn’t hurting yet. With the way things were going he probably would have had massive heart failure which is hardly pleasant.
Here’s a picture of the wee man just before the vet came.

You haven’t considered the horrific things that would undoubtedly happen, especially given infinite time, if you were to follow through on that sale.
For the sake of good taste and sanity, I won’t list any here, but I’m sure your imagination can fill in the gap.

I have answered this the same way every time I’ve been asked:
A great big fuck-off raven.

No, just at the large end of the real-world raven size range is fine.
I’m not, like, going to Mordor.

On the advice of my legal counsel, I am choosing to invoke my fifth amendment rights.
It’s called having a child, and it’s a lot different from any other kind of pet.
My cat. I left home for a bit, I come back to see she’s gone. Nobody told me or anything. I know she’s fine wherever she is, but I still miss her.
My dog Denver, who died a couple years ago. She was so awesome, my little buddy. Lived 18 great years, miss her every day.

Sorry for your loss. I’m sure she knew nothing but a life full of love.

Some kind of a wild cat like Ocelot would be cool assuming they could behave themselves but since they can’t, a normal house cat is just fine too.
- 8 days
Apparently Cheetahs behave a lot like housecats if they are socialised from very young with similarly sized dogs.

I don’t really have any firm beliefs in an afterlife, but if there is one and my dogs aren’t waiting for me there, I’d prefer oblivion. Please and thank you.
A binturong. They have a fluffy prehensile tail as long as their body and they smell like popcorn!

I got to meet a couple capybaras on a cruise excursion. At one point someone in the crowd got rowdy and upset the male, who had to huddle in a corner and stare at a wall to calm down.
It was sad that we made him uncomfortable, but also pretty cute to watch him sulk.

Understandable. She’s a high-quality, purebred stray from Croatia.
A service dog so to speak. I’m at her service all the time. Snacks? Yes ma’am. Hug? You got it.
The other one is a Polish stray of the finest quality as well.

I wouldn’t settle for less than a rescue, they’re simply the best.
