When pretty much every aspect of our lives relies on machines, from PC to Servers, to Laptops, to Cell phone, and all the sites on the net. (no offense lemmy.world). Kind of seems a little bit late now to put in safe guards.

Do you really need to ask the question why people that are being opressed are concerned about their oppressors gaining more powerful tools of oppression?
Might as well walk up to a slave in the 1800s and say “why are you so worried about that big shipment of new enhanced whips and chains that just arrived? They are just tools that make the farm more productive and more food and cotton are only be a good thing”

lol I’ve seen this guys (these guys’s? the profile says its being used by multiple people?) posts before and I’ve thought “is this person serious? Should I block them?” every time I’ve seen their posts. Seems like my hunch was correct.
Who knows what the story really is. Whatever the case, I thought some of their early posts were pretty amusing in a sort of ‘zen idiot’ way, but to me it started drifting in to borderline trollishness at a certain point. It’s hard for me to imagine any adult or near-adult plugged in to the internet in 2026 so completely clueless as in the OP. So bye bye, Donnie…

Yeah thats how I thought about it. Like, one such silly post every now and then is good fun etc. But if the whole account is just being a clueless dummy “just asking questions” in bad faith, it gets tiring very fast. But yeah, that’s how I use the block list, remove annoyances.
