This is my spouse’s handiwork. The main goal was to direct the water towards an existing French drain and reduce risk of flooding the septic field during spring melt and intense precipitation.
The drainage part of the french drain is questionable, but we also want to be able to pull rainwater for plant watering needs. It’s been slow going, but this angle makes it look amazing.
Plants are a mix of planted and volunteered. There is a large marsh rose, pussy willow and yellow dogwood which are all blending into each other lol. The Joe Pye Weed and Goldenrood are blooming, as are the Black Eyed Susans. The Rose Mallow will be next.
