Might do this at home just to watch the wife’s brain reboot looking at it. I’m just not sure what to use for the black markings that will stick to the onion. Maybe chocolate chips?

Oh yeah, whole black pepper kernels might do the trick. Maybe some left over rice for adhesion.

This also sounds good. I don’t know if you get the same hardness to press a clove into the onion, in practice.
