600k is not a small town in comparison to a 7 million pop capital. I get that your argument is essentially the words are meaningless because theres no strict population density, but by that logic I could call Toronto a small town because its on the same continent as New York.

Actual small towns in Ontario have populations of no more than 5000. 50000 is a small city. Relative to its surroundings, Kitchener-Waterloo is a medium-large-sized city. Very few Canadian cities reach the million mark (it used to be only Toronto, but I’m pretty sure Vancouver is there now too, and maybe one or two others).

I wouldn’t call it small, but I know people who live in Tokyo who certainly would. Having > 30,000,000 people in the area during business hours was always insane.

We have expanded skytrain reach being built in metro Vancouver, and those serviced areas are doing buslanes and bike lane additions also. Just hoping the new BC Conservative government doesn’t start killing things.

And it opened shortly after I moved away. I’m fairly optimistic at least a few of the new Kelowna city councillors watch his channel.

The same guy who made a warm-weather train for Vancouver went to Ottawa…and made a warm-weather train, to well-observed effect.
I’m glad his next project - he was bound for K/W next - seems to have come out better.

I’m pretty sure that Montreal has the same rail system as Ottawa, and it’s just as reliable and efficient, too!
