- Tesla create a real flying car !
- Look inside
- Barely 1 second of flying autonomy. More like a jumping car, or a falling with style car.

It tries to fly, but falls shy of that description. It should be called shyster.

Best I’ve heard is Klanborghini. But that’s not related to its (lack of) flying.
- 16 days
Yeah it’s impressive as an engineering feat, but it’s actually completely pointless
- 16 days
Telsa is run by a dumb nazi who does dumb shit, like make a car go up for a second.

lol unlike you absolute clowns, we don’t take marching orders and can actually dislike more than one thing at a time.
Sad how your mental capacity is so limited that you cannot even grasp how other people even can think differently rofl. Toddler brain.

Leftist? No. Rationalist? Yes.
It’s okay to hate on stupid marketing stunts that cater towards idiots with too much money. It’s a waste in every sense.
- 16 days
People can buy things for all sorts of reasons, including just because they think it looks cool

What’s the deal with saying it’s hateful to not like something? Do we have to like everything or shut up?
I think it’s time we stop being simple minded like this.

impressive as an engineering feat
Is it even that? RCS thrusters aint a new thing, with enough money you can strap them to anything, be it a fridge or a car shaped object
- 16 days
Style’s not the right word. It looks violently engineered, while the car itself is like a Lancer with one of those awful knock off Countach bodykits.

Gonna be interesting when some guy tries to impress a girl on his barely-flying car only for it to fall flat because the whatever gas tank was empty

They aren’t even available for purchase so using it in a demo was literally just investor circle jerking.
Technically they’re “available for purchase by invitation only” but im sure that was added for legal purposes.

Peak weirdness was around 2012 with this thing:

(Nissan Deltawing)
The punk peugeot was a bit oout of ordinary in the latest years, nowadays they all look very similar, but at least the races are good!

- 16 days
That Deltawing looks sad because it was obviously designed for two friends to tool around in but instead it just has the one driver.

A lot of these cars are “two” seaters because of the rules (realistically they only fit one)
- 16 days
Yes: IMSA (US Series) and WEC (EU/Intl.)
- 16 days
The cars are 1150mm, or about 46 inches, tall and weigh 1000KG. They’re very small. here’s a driver change

The LM-GTP (a continuation of the GT1 class) class was dropped in the early 2000s.
After it was consolidated along with the LMP900 class into a new LMP1 class. While LMP675 class was dropped.
LMP1 continued under various rulesets up until 2021. When the ACO and IMSA merged their two respected top classes.
Creating the Hypercar class across both series. Made up of cars following either the FIA Hypercar or LMDh formula.

I was hoping the latest ruleset would bring a few homologation specials, but alas not. In my opinion homologation specials from both Le Mans and Rally have brought forth some of the most iconic cars of all time, it’s a shame that’s gone away.
- 15 days
Isn’t the Aston Martin Valkyrie sorta a homoligation special?
But… yeah. I thought Koenigsegg would do one for sure, given their first car was literally built for GT1.
- 14 days
Kinda sorta, but I’ll allow it 😃 it’s probably also the coolest\most iconic of the current crop of hypercars too (in my opinion) so I reckon the theory holds.

It’s not about the flying car, it’s about sticking the landing
cannedtuna@lemmy.worldEnglish
16 daysIt failed to fly. It did some monster jam style jump on a ramp and landed with air jets. That’s it. It didn’t fly for even a second.
- 15 days
It was fun to watch all the media write about it as “flying car”. We are living in idiocracy. Next, I guess a bouncing ball is also flying.
