You’ve never seen a pizza with corn and chick peas on it.
Some crimes go unreported.

I once used to watch TMNT as a kid and sometimes the show mentions what were then considered the strangest pizza toppings ever sold.
There do exist Nutella “pizza” but I consider them to be more pastry than pizza.

I’ve had pizza with whale meat. That was really tasty.
The strangest pizza I’ve had was bacalao pizza. (bacalao is a fish dish with salted dried fish, tomato, onion and potato). It wasn’t bad, but i wouldn’t call it pizza.
My brother once served me pizza with kale as topping. That was interesting.
The most unique pizza I’ve ever tasted was a pizza where the “dough” was actually a piece of dry fried cheese, with a bolognese sause covered with cheese. Calling it pizza was an insult.

I’d think the reason we stopped engaging in national scale single focus construction projects is that nations that relied on national scale conscripted labor didn’t prosper as well as ones that didn’t.
*Note: I don’t pretend to be educated enough to actually back this up, nor do I have any underlying political point. Just thinking with my thumbs.

Flevoland was a national scale pseudo conscript construction project on the scale of the Great Wall. Bit more useful though.
The Dutch in the 70s oil crisis told all their freshly unemployed people to grab a shovel or they don’t get unemployment, and now their country is a tenth bigger.

Yeah, I’m not sure it really holds up. I initially wanted to say “slave labor”, but that gets tricky compared to chattel slavery, which mostly was not what built the wonders.
I’m surprised to learn just now that the conscription rates compared to population are much lower than I would have thought, 1.5-2.5% during pyramids area, just double modern US military service.
But the mortality rates performing the labor are 100x modern US military service, which helps my point about it being slavey.
*Maybe the important change isn’t the workforce itself, but the authority structure? No longer a single guy saying “put them all on __ and finish by ___, i don’t care about losses.”? More people in between, making it less slavey?

This is Pizza Africana, which you’ll find on Swedish pizza menus as surely as you’ll find Quattro Formaggi or Hawaiian.
It’s ok not to want to try it, but I wish that in 2026 we could stop hating on people who do things that make them happy without affect us.

Old wonders: I wonder how they did that?
New wonders: I wonder why they did that? - NaibofTabr@infosec.pubEnglish1 day
The object in the picture is a monument to man’s hubris.
The other one is a border wall.
You’d need to try it just to say you did. You’d spend your whole life wondering otherwise.

Don’t knock a ham, banana, pineapple, currypowder pizza. It’s a hangover classic for a reason. Although I prefer a chicken, pineapple, banana, currypowder and peanut pizza.
Sounds like one of those Indian pizzas you can get on Oak Tree Road in New Jersey. I’ve considered attempting to make Indian pizza for my wife, but I’m worried that my Texas ass would make her eternally sad.

1 dayHonestly, I’d give either of those a shot without the banana.
Ok, let’s rephrase the question: “When did humans stop creating nice wonders?”
We didn’t. We just stopped paying attention because there’s so much other bullshit going on, some wonders became too commonplace, and other wonders were created by people we don’t like.
Hazel@piefed.blahaj.zoneEnglish
1 dayCommonplace wonders are no longer wonders though, they should be wonderful relative to contemporaneous creations.
Commonplace wonders are no longer wonders though,
I wholeheartedly reject that worldview. Life is just so much better when you can still see the wonder in things you pass by every day.
