Steamforged Games is facing mounting criticism from crowdfunding backers over unresolved refunds and dwindling updates across its undelivered projects, in the wake of the publisher cutting about a third of its workforce and refocusing towards its Warmachine miniatures line earlier this year.

    The worst thing a crowd funded campaign can do is stop talking. I have a book that is something like 2 years overdue and we (as a whole, the backers) don’t care, because we’re being talked to about the process, including hardships. Life happens. I’ve had a different one go silent sure to similar ish hardships and the community turned on them.

    Even when gtg was going through severe staff reductions (three people were left) due to a parent company downsizing, the owner was still posting monthly, with things like “no new progress, I have no information from the parent company.”

    Tldr Updates are critical, especially when the news sucks.
