Used to work in a bar in my early 20s, and we drank quite a bit. Customers would buy us shots and we’d have regular “staff meetings” (group shot behind the bar). It was normal to grab a beer at a neighbouring bar and they’d give it to us for free, knowing they’d get a free one when they came to ours.
The manager at one point was always really drunk, figured it was just because she was short and skinny. Went on break at the same time as her once, she sat down and ordered a glass of wine, a beer, and three shots. I was like “I don’t need that much” and she goes “it’s for me. What do you want”. Then proceeded to pound it all in less than 30 minutes and go back to work. Turns out she was doing this every day. We also had staff drinks at the end where we would sit down and have a beer together after we finished for the night. She always had more than one.
Side note, I have cirrhosis after just six years at that bar. Stopped drinking after that lol

When I was a waiter, this guy in a plain office suit would come in, have a steak and salad with an entire bottle of red for lunch everyday. 30 mins, done.
Later in life I did contract work for the federal government, which was awful. I learned there was a big government building opposite the old restaurant I worked at and suddenly it all made sense.

Anybody drinking that much on their break should just have a bottle in their office drawer.
