• As someone outside America I was also confused at first, I was thinking “so you’re telling your therapist you’d buy a lot of candy and mess up your teeth and get sick so you have to go to the doctor and the dentist?” It is superficially so similar to my own country and yet really is a completely foreign environment when looked at from perspectives like this.

  • This month I’ve been to the dentist, had 3 doctor’s appointments, and a cat scan, for a total of 300-ish USD. The joys of not living in America.

      • Not during the scan no, but maybe I’ll go to a furry convention sometime, we’ll see then.

    • And i was like “what? 300 moneyz? And he doesn’t get it back from insurance later?” 😁

  • I was at the convenience store today and this old guy was talking to the cashier about lottery tickets

The cashier says the lottery is at $80 million, and the old guy just says “nobody needs that much” and then walked away.

    • Wise man. You totally don’t. With muuuch less you’d never have to work again, ever (in the USA you’d need considerably more though). I stopped working with 25 or so, I don’t even remember when I retired.
