I am looking to exercise my brain by learning a new skill and have considered taking up Russian. I have never been there but I know a couple of people who speak the language and used to live in the USSR. In addition to learning the language I also intend to familiarize myself with Russian and Soviet history and culture.
The trouble is that I live in kkkanada, where non-imperialist, non-neoliberal sources on that subject are hard to come by. I found the book Creating Russophobia by Guy Mettan a useful introduction to the subject. What others would you recommend?
