    Most of this we learned in school though, so maybe this is just your local (american?) school system lacking?

      Yeah, most of this I did learn in school. Not the last bit, but the parts about the placenta ripping out and the uterus contracting was definitely in my books. As was postnatal depression, and sleep deprivation.
